The project : The town of Montautour has a very rich and remarkable built heritage in it city center. It is protected as Historical Monument. Restoration works started a few years ago. Today, there is still one major part of this heritage which needs to be renovated to finalise the global project : the parish close. In order to help the town in fulfilling this project, the community of communes Vitré Communauté decided to support it by organising an international workcamp. The amount of work to be done is huge. You will start the restauration of the wall and more workcamps should take place in 2015 and 2016 ! The partenars of this project want to use the workcamp to encourage local youth to move and commit themselves on the project. It will be the opportunity for you to meet the youth of Montautour : they will happily show you their region and their culture.
Work :
You will work on traditional masonry. 'Parish close' is a translation of the French term 'enclos paroissial'. It refers to a number of locations Brittany, corresponding roughly to the northern half of the département of Finistère, in Brittany. These feature an elaborately-decorated parish church surrounded by an entirely-walled churchyard, and date from the 16th and 17th centuries.
Location :
Montautour is a lovely town located at around 60km of Rennes, in a green landscape. It is in the depatement of Ille Et vilaine in Brittany.
Accommodation :
You will be accommodated in a non-furnished building. You need to bring an air mattress and a sleeping bag.
You would like to participate to the reconstruction of a medieval castle of a small French village? The castle of Montaigu-le-Blin needs you to find back the grandness of its past! Since summer 2002, workcamps have taken place every year and begun to protect the castle which has been listed as a Historical Monument. Thanks to your involvement, we can stop the damages caused by bad weather and vegetation and renovate the castle. The castle may be open to the public and guided tours and varied animations would be proposed to the tourists.
Work:
Unlike Forrest Gump, who said that "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get", the works on the castle are well planned! You will restore the castle and walls (clearing, replacing of stones, repointing). And you will not forget to clean up the bund in the low yard.
Accomodation & food:
You will sleep in tents. Two showers are a five-minute walk from the camp. The group will organise teams so that everybody can participate in the cleaning, tidying up, and preparation of the meals do not forget your recipes!

On your arrival, leaders will propose several activities; your ideas are welcomed and everything can be discussed. So be imaginative, the workcamp is a place for having fun! We dont expect you to do activities on your own, you will live an experience in a group !
Requirements:
A part of the work will be at heights, on scaffolding. So, we ask you a parental authorization and a medical certificate.-If you have safety shoes, take them with you. Otherwise, make sure you bring sturdy and close footwear to protect your feet while working!

The partnership between Concordia and the city hall of Cadillac is 10 years old. From the 1st workcamp, we always tried to care and renovate the great built heritage and in the same time to develop exchanges with the local population. Since 2010 the non-profit organisation Entracte (social and medical support of special needs persons), with the support of the city hall, hosts a European Volunteer Service (EVS) to create new dynamics and open the members of the organisation to the international world. This year Entracte decided to host a work. The project is to renovate the 1st floor and to make it pretty!!!
WORK:
You will participate in the renovation of the 1st floor of the association: taking off paper wall, cleaning, putting new paper wall, painting and decorating the place.
ACCOMODATION:
You will stay in a primary school (sleeping in army beds). Collective living conditions will be simple.

APRRES is a non-profit organisation that works on the educational and social reintegration of young people. For 3 years, the association has been renovating a wooden schooner (sailboat). For the second camp with Concordia, the aim is to finish the structural work on the hull prior in order to launch it to water at the end of the summer. Various exchanges with other organisation and young people from other camps are expected!
WORK:
Supervised by a technical leader from APPRES and a daily life leader from Concordia, you will participate in the renovation of the schooner. Traditional marine carpentry work.
ACCOMODATION:
In a house with simple living conditions.

PROJECT: This is Concordia's third cooperation with the town of Tarascon. The objective of this years of partnership is to create a dynamic for future projects, while achieving useful work for the community. The Chapel Saint Gabriel is located next to a pine forest and an olive grove. The goal is to carry on the restoration of the chapel access.
WORK:
The volunteers will carry on the restoration of chapel stone backstairs. Since the chapel is protected by the government, the quality of the work will have to be meticulous.
ACCOMMODATION:
The volunteers will be accommodated in a campsite outside the town, but close to the chapel. If you have a tent, you may bring it.

You will be staying at about 20 km from Nîmes, in a beautiful region located between the Provence and the Languedoc provinces. You will have the opportunity to visit the region, but also to participate in the different activities organised in Tarascon.

The partnership between Concordia and the municipality of Barbaste is 10 years old! Several workcamps have been organized by Barbaste and they have always been very profitable: restoration of local heritage, very warm exchanges between international volunteers and local population... To go on with this dynamic, two workcamps will be organized this year to continue the renovation of the communal wash-house.
WORK:
You will participate to the renovation of the structure of the communal wash-house and the green areas.

Barbaste (1581inhabitants) is located at 32 km from Agen. It is a small village with its traditional charm.

Ancient Gallo-roman town, Duravel, previously named Diolindum, was founded by the Romans to be a military position on the strategic route from Bordeaux to Lyon. Many remains are still visible today despite destructions during the religious war of 1596. From this rich history, Duravel has preserved a beautiful heritage to discover: a roman church of the 11th century containing the relics of three mummified bodies of saints, a remarkable square crypt, one of the few pre-roman buildings in France, the remains of the Saint-Avit chapel, listed as historic monuments, as well as old houses, mansions, capstans, wash-house and especially a 160 meters rampart of the 13th century. You will work on a part of those ramparts. Thanks to very good experiences and rich exchanges between the local population and the international volunteers in the previous years, the town of Duravel is looking forward to welcome you this year!
WORK:
Supervised by a technical leader, you will participate to the restoration of the rampart, reassembling parts collapsed, sealing the set. Traditional masonry work.

Located at 40km west of Cahors, Duravel is at the crossroads of four departments and produces mainly wine.
