We will be cleaning and arranging stones from the ruins of the castle on which the Church of Saint-Firmin was built. Another part of the job is to cut back the undergrowth around the fortified walls and to open up the site to a neighbouring building. Alongside a local organisation called "Friends of the museum", you will work to maintain this timeless historical place. This year, we will clean, restore, and do masonry work in order to bring light to this patrimonial site that is a part of a picturesque environment worthy of interest.

You will also be able to participate in summer events like the market of local products that welcomes a significant number of artisans and local producers each year, as well as the village festival. Finally, you will indeed have the opportunity to meet locals who will be more than happy to share the unique history of their village with you.
With the support of Concordia technical leader and technical services of the municipality, you will renovate a dry stone retaining wall about ten linear meters in trail edge. Essentially built in slate of lauzes, we can still find some granite stones into the wall now and then. The renovation will be carried out using local materials while respecting the masonry techniques specific to dry stone.

You will stay in tents in the heart of the village overlooking the Chambon dam and its turquoise blue waters! Nearby, a room with toilets and showers will also be available to organize group life.The group will be managed by 2 camp leaders, one group leader and one technical leader. Together you will participate at the organization of collective life (cleaning, activities …), you will prepare meals in turns using the products bought nearby. We will favour the local products and the short supply circuits. Tastings of local specialties may also be organised with local producers.

You will not miss any discovery activities during this project! The town of Mizoën with its 200 inhabitants is located in the department of Isère, in the heart of the Oisans Valley, on the outskirts of the Ecrins National Park. The mountain and nature location of Mizoën is conducive to the practice of outdoor sports, including hiking (on the hiking trail 54 for example). The water of Chambon has a nautical base. The nearby ski resorts such as Alpe d'Huez and Deux-Alpes, allow the practice of many summer sports such as mountain biking, climbing ... Several mountain refuges are within the town limits and you will be welcome there during your stay. You will also be able to participate in numerous artists' performances as part of the Festival des Randonnées Musicales du Ferrand which is currently being programmed.The town is located about fifteen kilometers from Bourg d'Oisans which has all types of shops and local services (doctors, banks, post office ...).
Requirements:
Remember to bring gloves as well as working clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. In the mountains, nights may be chilly. Remember to bring a warm sleeping bag and warm clothes. In your bag, also take appropriate clothing in case of rain or for hiking in altitude (pullovers, polar, raincoats ...). Hiking shoes will be essential. Do not forget sun protection as well (hat, sunglasses and sunscreen) and a suit for swimming. The common living activities will be programmed together with your animators and according to your suggestions! If you would like to share a bit of your culture, (cooking recipes, traditional stories) do not hesitate to bring a piece of your country in your backpack!Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

You will work in the Pillar Room located underground. The work consists of securing and supporting the existing vaults: Construction of walls following the traditional dry stone construction technique. The materials (sand and lime) will be delivered to the site by helicopter. This workcamp involves 4 days of work per week, from 08:30 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:30. A technical supervisor will accompany you during your working day. This workcamp will be archaeologically monitored.

You will be sharing a room with 3-4 other volunteers. Bathrooms are also shared. Meals are prepared by our kitchen staff. You will be asked to lend a hand with the preparation of some food, tidying the dining area, and washing the dishes.

Tende (06430) - 2 hours from Nice by train. The organisation "Neige et Merveilles" is located at an altitude of 1.500 metres in an isolated mountainous area, 10 km from the Closest village of Tende, and 50 km from Vintimille (Italy).
Leisure activities:
You will discover the Alpine environment, as well as the region's historical and cultural heritage. You will also be able to participate in other activities such as hiking in the "Vallée des Merveilles" in the Mercantour National Park, swimming in the Bendola river, visiting local villages (Tende, La Brigue, Saorge), tying the Via Feratta and in the evenings, enjoying dance, photo-video sessions, stargazing, board games, barbecue, international meals, etc. One day per week in addition to the weekend will be dedicated to activities outside of the workcamp.
Requirements:
You will be working underground at the entrance of the mine with some heavy material such as rocks and buckets of mortar.

The program of activities that we offer will allow you to discover the Alpine environment where we are located, as well as the discovery of the region's historical and cultural heritage. Discovering the mining village and previous work carried out at the site will be an important part of your stay. You will also be able to participate in other activities such as hiking, visiting picturesque villages in the Roya-Bévéra valley, and sporting activities such as visiting a forest adventure centre.
The reception center is composed of several buildings, including the "Auberg'in" house. This project concerns the insulation of the exterior walls of this building. You will be accompanied by a technical supervisor and work together to put a natural insulation (straw and lime) after preparing the walls and having built a wooden frame. Through this project, you will discover new techniques including those of traditional plaster and the use of eco-materials.

Located in a remarkable natural environment, Faï is an ideal place to discover the pleasures of mountain hiking, swimming in the river and enjoying the rural life with its farmers' market and producers. In the evening, you can organize board games, screenings, international meals. Throughout the workcamp, visits to discover other touristy villages of the area can also be organised!
You will participate in the restoration of an escape wall. This wall, at the time, was used for defense and protection of the castle (outer moat wall). Today, this moat is dry. You will intervene with the help of a technical supervisor to restore this wall using traditional masonry techniques. Searching and sorting of the stones will be done, then you will re-use these stones to fill the gaps. You will be doing small construction work.

In tents on the «La Pra » campsite, located at the entrance of the Valgaudemar valley. On the campsite, you will enjoy a calm stay in a green setting. You will have access to camping facilities : toilets, cater fountains, and a communal barbecue. During your free time, you will also be able to organise events with locals such as international meals, joint workcamp days, parties, festivities…
You will work in a beautiful natural environment on this sixth stage of the renovation. Part of the work will be the enhancement of the walking trails leading towards the bridge and the other part will be to install a relaxing area for hikers that use the trail (installing picnic tables, etc.) A municipal employee, that has been the technical leader since the beginning of the project will accompany you on site.

You will have the opportunity to discover Aveyron's natural sites, such as the canyons of Aveyron and Doulouze, and the historical architecture of it's fortified towns, abbeys, and castles. You will also be able to participate in the village's festivities, such as the «Festival of fortified towns» in the surrounding medieval towns, and Morlhon's «Festival of the Lake», where, following tradition, the local youth called «classards» go around the village offering flowers to each house.
Participate to the protection and enhancement of this breathtaking heritage! Within the castle, you will realize various works of restoration of walls (ramparts, towers) using traditional techniques, of maintaining the vegetation (clearing bushes) and many varied tasks. You will also participate to the touristic life of the site, helping the guided visits and organising an event on the theme of the five senses!
Accomodation & food:
Accommodation is in tents (2 persons per tent) at the town stadium. Volunteers will manage the tasks of daily life in teams (shopping, cooking, and cleaning). Kitchen, toilets and showers are in a recent building on the camping site.

Montaigu le Blin is located in the Bourbonnais area, 30km North from Vichy and 90km North from Clermont-Ferrand, in Auvergne region. It is a countryside rich with historical heritage, which you will be able to discover by visiting a few of the numerous castles and medieval cities, or by hiking, or going by bike or canoe, according to what the leading team can propose you. Your camp leaders will prepare games and activities but you will be invited to propose and create your own activities. Be creative!
