You will restore this building's façades using lime mortar. The work will include removing outer layers of plaster, recovering the boards of the framework, reworking the plaster joints, using mortar to repair the stonework wall and brushing the mortar joints. This work camp involves 4 days of work per week, from 08:30 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:30. A technical supervisor will accompany you during your working day.

You will be sharing a room with 3-4 other volunteers. Bathrooms are also shared. Meals are prepared by our kitchen staff. You will be asked to lend a hand with the preparation of some food, tidying the dining area, and washing the dishes.

Tende (06430) - 2 hours from Nice by train. The organisation "Neige et Merveilles" is located at an altitude of 1.500 metres in an isolated mountainous area, 10 km from the Closest village of Tende, and 50 km from Vintimille (Italy).
Leisure activities:
You will discover the regional mountainous environment and sporting activities: hiking/ guided tour in the "Vallée des Merveilles" in the Mercantour National Park, swimming in the Bendola river, visiting local villages (Tende, La Brigue, Saorge), trying the Via Feratta and in the evenings, enjoying dance, photo-video sessions, stargazing, board games, barbecue, international meals. One day per week in addition to the weekend will be dedicated to activities outside of the workcamp.
A diversity of insects and a source of water are essential components of the ecosystem of a working vegetable garden. You will work together on the renovation of the walls of our main water basin and do some maintenance gardening work. Additionally, working with local materials such as wood, you will do some landscaping work and build elements that add to the garden's pedagogical aspect.

Leisure activities:
During this workcamp you will have the chance to meet young people from France and all over the world. You will discover a rural way of life here in the castle grounds. You will also have the possibility to visit the Closest cities (Moulins and Vichy), or to go swimming at the local lake or swimming pool.
Volunteers will participate to restore part of the building, they will learn the technique of old buildings and restoration. Restoring the entire fortification will take several years of work, this is just the beggining !

Volunteers will be hosted in tents in a hold farm, with a big garden, barnum and a place where you can cook and eat will be available. During the camp you'll have the opportunity to show off your culinary skills by initiating other volunteers with typical dishes from your region. Meals, like all daily activities will be carried out collectively. We will favor local and seasonal products that are at the heart of our eco-citizen approach.

At the heart of a plateau, volunteers will be halfway between the city and countryside, bicycles will be provided to discover the area. In the continuity of last year work you will participate in the cleaning of the washhouse and the general enhancement of the site. You will have to rebuild some portions of collapsed walls and remake the joins of the "calade" which was once use as a trough for the cattle. You may also have the opportunity to build a bridge across the stream.

You will be accommodated in the town's stadium under tents for 2, with boys and girls separated. Tents will be provided. Please bring your mat and sleeping bag. Showers and toilets as well as a place for cooking and for collective life will be available in a building located nearby. The group will share collective tasks, manage the budget along with the camp leaders, shop and prepare meals made of local healthy products as a team.

Gironde sur Dropt is a village of almost 1,200 inhabitants located on the Dropt River, close to the city of Reole rich in art and history. Surrounded by vineyards, it offers many attractions between walks on the Garonne, visits to Bordeaux or even out on the Atlantic Ocean.

You will have to clean inside the communal church. The edifice is made of stone and has suffered from time and pollution. You will mostly use high pressure cleaner and sometimes your own hands for the really fragile stones. The inhabitants have already take care of the choir but they still need your help to take care of the rest of the church.

We invite you to continue the work started last year on a beautiful edifice! The church of Cazaux is listed as a historical monument of France. You will handle the renovation of a buttress and a facade of the church. First, you will have to repair the joints using hydrated lime. You will also cut stones and replace the missing and the damaged ones. All of these things will be done with the support of the local population.

You will pursue the restoration of the outer walls started last year. You will reinforce the damaged parts using traditional masonry techniques and rebuild the destroyed parts to allow the preservation of the heritage and to perpetuate the history of the village. Please note that you will have to work on scaffoldings. For two years now, international volunteers have been working side by side with locals for the safeguard of the Priory. This summer we are giving you the chance to restore the outer stone wall along a staircase reconstructed by international volunteers. The coating is falling off and there are large cracks in the wall. Your work will consist of reinforcing the wall and thus making it look more appealing! Working alongside a technical instructor, you will learn traditional building techniques using lime mortar, how to rebuild a stone wall and apply a natural coating. All the work will take place in an area rich in natural resources, not far from Allier River. You will be accompanied by two camp leaders throughout your stay.

You will sleep at the local site in two-person tents (please bring your sleeping bag).
