Volunteer's main task will be to take photos of flora, fauna, landscapes and everyday work of foresters of Pultusk Forest Inspectorate. 3-4 times a week volunteer will be brought to a new place where he/she will take the photos. Volunteer will receive GPS and forest map and will work independently. Next task will be to describe the photos (e.g. place and time) and publish them on facebook profile of the Inspectorate. Volunteer will also write and publish (in English) his/her observations and comments about everyday life of the Inspectorate and foresters. Also valuable part of the project is communication with foresters in English to encourage them the use of foreign language and practice. A volunteer should have interest (and if possible) some knowledge about forestry, biology or related field of knowledge, good command of English and good sense of direction.
Accomodation & food:
Separate room in the building of the Pultusk Forest Inspectorate with access to a kitchen. Volunteer will receive monthly food allowance.
Location & leisure:
Pultusk, situated on the Narew river (65 km from Warsaw), is one of the oldest Polish towns. It is famous for the longest town square in Europe but it also has a castle, gothic town hall and a number of historic churches. Currently it has about 19 thousands inhabitants and offers water sports activities (canoeing, boating) and cycling opportunities. During the summer events such as concerts or happenings are organized.
Requirements:
- Project suitable only for nature lover who is ready to work in a forest despite weather conditions!!!- Volunteer should bring his/her own camera and have some photography skills allowing to provide good quality photos. - Good command of English- Good sense of direction (in order not to get lost in a forest)
