Montaudoux is a natural space located near the City of Clermont Ferrand. You will work on this camp with some French teenagers who left school and decided to work, since January, on this small piece of land to create a shared garden and to raise awareness among population about new practises more respectful of the environment.
Work:
You will participate on gardening works (installation of a greenhouse, plant vegetables…) and build new equipments for the garden (ecological dry toilets, compost bin,…). You aslo will plan activities in order to promote the garden and mobilise the neighbourhood. You will often work with the teenagers who work on this garden since January.
Accomodation & food:
In tents. The group is divided into teams so that everybody can participate in cleaning, tidying up, and cooking. Don't forget your recipes!
Location & leisure:
Once there, the leaders will propose you several activities. You can bring your own ideas, be imaginative. We expect you to participate in the group activities that are going to be chosen by the group. Have fun!
Requirements:
Bring your old clothes to realize works gardening.
Restoration of stone walls around the place according to traditional masonry and landscaping.
Accomodation & food:
You will be accommodated in one of the buildings, with a kitchen, the bathrooms and rooms for sleeping. The accomodation conditions are basics. The group will organize itself the daily life and the leisure time.
Location & leisure:
The small town of Mettray (about 2140 inhabitants) is located around 10km north west from Tours (Centre region). It is not far from several castles of the Loire Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage. The leisure activities will depend on the group wishes.
Requirements:
open minded volunteers, mature and ready to work and share with all kinds of public! This project is run under the OFAJ, and is open to Italian, German and French volunteers only.
The workcamp of July will consist in the organization of animations in the district with the local kids and inhabitants. It will allow the valorization of their artistic and cultural abilities.This workcamp will enable the youth of Les Sablons to take part in free activities organized in the heart of their neighborhood and to become aware of intercultural meetings and international commitment. A particular attention will be paid to the participation of the residents, local organisations and the youth in the creation of activities to develop local events.
Accomodation & food:
You will be sharing collective accommodation in 2 flats in the neighborhood, with basic living conditions. There will be rooms of 4 or 5 people with mattresses provided by Concordia. The group will be sharing the cleaning chores and preparing meals together. The budget will be allocated to the group leader and you will participate in the preparation of meals with good products from the market and local producers. Bring your sleeping-bag with you.

Le Mans (143.000 inhabitants) is located in the West of France. It is the administrative center of the Sarthe county, in the Pays de La Loire region (50 min from Paris, and 1h30 from Nantes by train). You will have the time to discover the city. Le Mans is a beautiful art and history city, it is the third one of the Pays de la Loire region when it comes to culture and tourism. The old city center is surrounded by Roman walls and the most recent renovation works organized to preserve the oldest parts of Le Mans have helped to enhance its local heritage. Two rivers cross the city which has been named one of France greenest cities. There we can find various parks and gardens, in addition to the two big forests bordering the city. During summer, many festivals and events are organized, such as "La Nuit des Chimères" which highlights the historical heritage of the town. Volunteers should be interested in child/youth animation and come with ideas (original games, outdoor activities, workshops about recycling and materials recovery…). Don't forget your sleeping bag! If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and then be reimbursed once back in their home country.
The municipality manages a retirement home called « Résidence Saint Exupéry » https://www.facebook.com/rpasaintexuperynogentsuroise/. After the success of the 2014 workcamp which has redesigned the garden, we will renovate the common life room that needs a good coat of paint. You will therefore scratch and spackle cracks and holes and repaint the entire room to give it a fresh new start and make it the most comfortable possible for the residents.

You will sleep in separated men/women tents. Living/eating room indoor, at the football stadium and next to the swimming pool. Don't forget your sleeping bag and your swimsuit!

Nogent-sur-Oise is located in the middle of the Oise, near Creil and Chantilly.
Requirements:
No need to bring gloves or tools: everything is provided by the municipality once you arrive! Think to take clothes for the manual work and closed-toe shoes like baskets. This workcamp takes place at the Citrus Association (Solidarites Jeunesses in Midi-Pyrénées) site in Laguepie, where yo will work on two big projects started 3 years ago by several workcamps for teenagers: the construction of a kitchen and landscaping in the garden. Accompanied by enthusiastic leaders, you will share the work time but also many moments of cultural exchanges as well as the meals with the socio-professional integration team, and other french youngsters hosted at the site. The group will be formed by 5 French, 5 German and 5 Czech participants as part of the partnership with the French-German office of youth.
Work:
The main works to be conducted will be in masonry, gardening and eco-construction: The construction of a large common kitchen -built to standards- in the Citrus association's facilities to host groups; landscaping on the Mayounelle Garden and reception site (decoration, outside furniture); construction of an environmentally friendly greenhouse. The works will be supervised by Citrus members, and every day you will work with the organisation professional insertion team.

In tents in the Citrus site at La Mayounelle, with access to covered toilet unit and kitchen.

Leisure activities: Outside of the work time, you will have the opportunity to go for walks, go swimming, meet peers from the workcamp and Laguepie, organise outdoor -oven pizza evenings, game nights, visit exceptional medieval cities such as Najac, Cordes sur Ciel, Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val. Food and nutrition workshops will also be planned to better understand the basics of a balanced diet.

Within these 6 associations of Grenoble, you will participate in different activities by organising collections of food products, distributions to families with low incomes and animations in favour of social meeting and awareness... all your actions will be in fact the solution to the need noticed and expressed by the local associations, in order to enable the amelioration of the daily life of the disadvantaged people. You will be closely accompanied by volunteers of the organisations, who will present the context of their interventions and the local problematics. If you are interested in the local social actions, this workcamp is made just for you!

You will be accommodated in one of the partner associations. All facilities (toilets, showers, kitchen) will be at your disposal there, as well as the space for the conviviality time. Your transports for your missions with the associations in the town of Grenoble will take place via public transports (bus, tram and bike in free service).You will participate to prepare the meals alternately, with products that will be bought in the area. We will favour the local products.

It is surrounded by mountains with different massifs (Vercors, Chartreuse, Belledonne...) and benefits of the proximity with many other agglomerations (Lyon, Valence, Chambéry...).The city has many touristic assets and leisure infrastructures. A few kilometers away from the city center, you'll have the chance to reach natural spaces.

You are about to realise actions in direct contact with the public of the associations. You will have to follow the recommendations of the volunteers that will enable you to establish a trustful relationship with the people you will be helping. During the summer, it is often very hot in Grenoble. However, if you make a trip in the mountains the different temperature ranges may be important. Consider bringing some warm clothes and hiking shoes with you. The common life activities will be programmed together with our animators and according to your suggestions! You will work with the Companions of Emmaüs and the volunteers to make the "Bric a Brac" live (recycling of objects, sorting, renovation, sales, preparation of the meals for around thirty people...).

Escalquens (6000 inhabitants) is located at the gates of the Laurageais area, between sunflower covered hills and houses. It is in this beautiful setting that you will find a bridge from AD 1772, a green brick castle from AD 1568 in the city center and a 14th century church. At the Cousquille crossroads, you will find local shops, many celebrations and the Sunday market.During your days off, you can reach Toulouse in less than one hour by bus. Toulouse is a beautiful, innovative, cultural and dynamic student city famous for its rich heritage.In the area, you will get to discover villages, castles and wine estates, together with the UNESCO World Heritage "Canal des Deux Mers".

You will need to write a motivation letter in order to apply to this workcamp.You will live with the "Compagnons" which may come from difficult background; they are spending a year in the Emmaüs facilities as part of their integration process. They usually had previous professional or social difficulties, related to their age, health or highly unstable setting. You will share the same place and therefore the same rules will apply to you in order to live all together. You will work mornings and afternoons (about 6/7h a day), help prepare meals and clean the place. Your days off will be Sunday and Monday. During the day, you will share the companions' life and will be with the other volunteers in the evenings or time off. Outsiders are not allowed outside working hours, alcohol is forbidden on the facilities with no exception. Consider taking work clothes and shoes (waterproof if possible, in case of rain). Bring a warm sleeping bag and a good camping mat (sleeping in tent), nights are sometimes fresh and wet. Tents will be provided but you can also bring your own.
