Montmagastre was one of the most important castle in the Middle Ages, perhaps the most mentioned when talking of such buildings in our town. There remain only a few scattered ruins on top of the cone that forms the impressive limestone hill Montmagastre. The village was an ancient walled town. It is situated on the slopes of the hill Montmagastre (763 m high). At the summit, where we can enjoy a vast panorama, there are few traces of the old castle.
