The ground in front of the guest house needs to be re-done: You will help with creating a paved terrace, setting up a wooden separation (that divides the terrace and a near-by path), and planting the area in the end.

You will be accommodated in one of the log cabins; it offers rooms for four people each, a well-equipped kitchen, sanitary facilities, and a community room of 36mI. In front of the building, there is a lot of space to do sports or have a camp fire.

The Centre is located amidst nature; it belongs to the village Koenigsdorf, which is, however, about 4-5 km away. Although the area is rural, you will probably be able to do a trip to Munich (50km) and to the famous lake Starnberger See (30km distance). The place itself is great for hiking - it s the perfect project for nature lovers
For the now sixth time, an international workcamp is taking place at the Experience and Adventure Yard Bauspielfarm in Recklinghausen, with many interesting and exciting construction projects available. Together, we want to lay out our vegetable garden and plant new things with you. At the same time, we will continue with the construction of a knights' fortress for the children at Bauspielfarm. Alongside the 5 hour working day, there is of course plenty of time to get to know participants from a wide range of countries and to share stories. By cooking together, you will really understand the idea of a culinary journey around the world. The Bauspielfarm is a pedagogically supervised experience and adventure yard for children and young people. A particular highlight is the high ropes course located nearby.

you can try out the high ropes course as a team, or try out archery. During the camp you can also take part in a typical German tradition – an Easter bonfire. Take a canoe trip down the Lippe River, as well as trips to local monuments. Day trips to towns such as Dortmund, Münster, Düsseldorf or Essen can also be arranged.

Volunteers did a great job in creating a barefoot walking track and leisure area next to the idyllic reservoir, which was originally set up to protect the local area from flooding. This time, you can be part of the team renovating the popular barefoot path and, together with local experts, bring your exciting ideas to life. There is also some work with playground equipment planned for the project. Thanks to your input and efforts, the reservoir will once again be a popular holiday destination with both natural adventures and sensory experiences for one and all.

International volunteers are invited to improve the grounds of the centre. Tasks are likely to include construction, gardening, maintenance and renovation works. It is planned to renew the Barefoot Path, to paint playground equipment, to maintain paths of the centre and similar tasks. Other environmental and construction works are possible. Please be aware that you will not work with children!

The local host of this project is a German non-profit association called DJO (Deutsche Jugend in Europa - German Youth in Europe). They provide a self-catering educational centre for school classes, youth groups, musical or church associations as well as other NGOs who use the rooms for meetings, festivals or trainings. This house is also one of IBG’s favourite places to host trainings or seminars. In past years, the host was able to restore and improve the outside area of the house with the help of international workcamps. This year they are looking forward to welcoming you again to help them make the centre even more beautiful!
WORK:
This year the workcamp will help with various renovation tasks inside the house such as painting and wallpapering the rooms. If needed, various gardening and reconstruction jobs around the house and small repairs within the building will be needed, too.
ACCOMMODATION:
Participants will live directly at the project site. The accommodation includes shared rooms with beds: don’t bring sleeping bags – blankets and sheets will be provided! There are bathrooms as well as a kitchen in which the participants can cook on their own. Within the centre, there are various free-time activities available such as board games, table tennis or badminton and you may also use the fireplace close-by.
LOCATION:
Ehningen itself is small town with approx. 8.000 inhabitants, located very close to Böblingen (6 km) and only 20 km south of Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Wurttemberg. There are lots of things to do close-by, e.g. swimming at a large water park or visiting one of the well worth seeing towns in the area such as Böblingen, Esslingen, Ludwigsburg or Stuttgart.
A garden for vegetables, herbs and flowers, a pottery with a furnace, workshops to work with wood and metal, a shop offering local home made goods and vegetables, stables for goats, sheep and geese as well as a bread bakery have already been created. However there is still much to do: Help of volunteers is needed to create a place for two horses. This means renovation of a stable, to prepare the place in front of the stable according the needs of the horses and to dig a well. Beside this volunteers can help to make another stable secure against foxes and birds of prey. Volunteers are also invited to maintain and harvest the garden and in case there is bad weather, to do other renovation works inside the house.

The accommodation will be very, very basic, in a room with mattresses or camp bed. As compensation, volunteers can use a well appointed kitchen, a very comfortable and homely living room and lots of space in the court outside. WiFi will be provided

Study Part/ Leisure Time : We can learn about integrative Montessori pedagogics, there will be an excursion to a school working in this field. In the leisure time the group is free to explore the region with bicycles. There will be visits organized to picturesque places in the Black Forest and to the French city Strasbourg
Region:
The Schollenhof is located in the Upper-Rhine lowlands between the Black Forest ("Schwarzwald") and the bordering territory with France. From the yard one can see black forest as panorama. The area is very famous for its beautiful scenery and cherry tree flowers in the spring
