VAP Training Programmes

Volunteer Action for Peace operates two training programmes, one for the preparation of UK volunteer project co-ordinators and one for volunteers who are going to participate in projects included in our North-South Programme.

Volunteer Action for Peace operates two training programmes, one for the preparation of UK volunteer project co-ordinators and one for volunteers who are going to participate in projects included in our North-South Programme. To run these two programmes VAP has a working group of volunteer trainers. If you would like to learn how to become a trainer VAP offers to train members into highly experienced trainers with a wide range of different skills.

The UK Project Co-ordinator Training Programme

Training for UK voluntary project coordinators. Learn how to prepare, organise, host and sponsor a voluntary work project.

The training programme for project co-ordinators trains volunteers how to manage up to three week international volunteer projects, also known as “workcamps”, that are held in the UK each year. The participants learn how to prepare the project with the local community, organisation, hosting and sponsoring the project.

The North-South Training Programme

Training for volunteers going on voluntary work projects in Africa, Latin America and Asia. Learn about development, intercultural issues and conflict resolution.

The North-South Training Programme is designed for volunteers living in the UK who have been placed on international volunteer projects in the “South” which is what we call countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia (except for Japan, South Korea and Taiwan).

Quote of the day

« I appreciate that constructive criticism may be more useful to you than praise but I honestly have no gripes that I could possibly mention. I can only thank you for the experience that I really enjoyed and will undoubtedly follow-up in the coming year. »
