I think our work has really opened the eyes of the youth there. I think that, because of our presence, some local youths got the chance to learn about other cultures which they wouldn’t have otherwise. In addition, our visits to the schools have sparked tremendous interest by teachers in various schools to have such type of intercultural dialogue and activity – this is an excellent result. I met new friends from Europe and Russia, and got a rare insight into Russian life that I wouldn’t have got if I were just a tourist. Because of this wonderful experience, I would love to do another volunteer workcamp again.
