Buterere is a suburb on the edge of Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi. Most of the people are poor and the area suffers a lot from flooding when there are heavy rains. It is quite near to the airport.

volunteers will make bricks for families to help rebuild their homes after the flood. There will plenty of opportunity to interact with the local population.
ABSV is a fairly new organisation and Burundi is now enjoying peace after years of conflict. Taking part in a workcamp here is a way of supporting the development of volunteering in this beautiful little country.

THERE WILL BE AN ORIENTATION ON THE 1ST DAY SO VOLUNTEERS SHOULD ARRIVE 1 DAY BEFORE THE START OF THE CAMP
Accommodation:
at a local youth centre.
Food:
ABSV provides locally available food (there is quite a variety) and volunteers take turns to prepare this themselves. There is a chance for volunteers to showcase their own national dishes.
