Brigada de Voluntarios Bolivarianos del Perú together with INABIF of Huanuco City invites international volunteers to participate in the development of this project. This project will allow volunteers to contribute to the well being of Peruvian children and adolescents who are in moral and material carelessness. It will take place in a shelter situated in one of the poorest urban zones of the city of Huanuco. It will be an opportunity for volunteers to create projects that can stregthen the lack of values and self esteem of these children. This can be done through educational games and group dynamics that will develop their interest.
Work:
Volunteers will develop many activities according with their skills, experiences and interests, in accordance to the programme and aims of this institution. They can, for instance, promote academic activities such as the reinforcement of some educational subjects; improve and develop different workshops with the children that can arouse their spirit of initiative and creativity; recreational activities such as sports, music, dancing and handicraft.
Volunteers will work every day with 50 children except for weekends when they can have time to do their personal activities. You can for example take part in the festivities of the anniversary of the Foundation of the city of Huanuco.
Accomodation:
Volunteers will stay in a house in the city with basic services. It is important to mention that every volunteer should bring a sleeping bag.
Location:
Huanuco. An historical city which is located in the centre of Peru, 1939 metres above sea level. It has all the services of a modern city.
Language:
English, with knowledge of basic Spanish.
Project costs:
190 Euro. This payment made by the volunteers to BVBP will cover the costs of lodging and food, as well as operational and administrative costs of the project.
