The Botswana Workcamps Association is the partner organisation of YAP in Botswana.

BWA is a non-governmental, non-profit making voluntary organisation registered with the Ministry of Home Affairs in April 1980 under the Societies Act. It is also known as Lekgotla la Baithaupi. Its headquaters are in Boseja North Ward, Mochudi, Botswana.
BWA is a member of the SAWC (Southern Africa Workcamps Co-operation) and is affiliated to CCIVS (Co-ordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service) which was founded in 1948 to assist and promote workcamps throughout the world.

Aims and objectives of BWA:
- To enable young people to have a deeper understanding and concern for social, economic and physical problems of the area.
- To encourage the community at large to take greater interest in young people and develop a spirit of self help.
- To encourage young people to work for the removal of the barriers and the prejudices between those of different ages, sexes, social and economic backgrounds, races, political leanings and religious beliefs.
- To develop group leadership skills.
- To assist in the implementation of community development.

An orientation is normally organised two days before the workcamp with the intention of briefing and highlighting the participants on BWA as an organisation and the socio-economic background and cultural issues of Botswana. Participants should arrive two days earlier for the orientation.
