Work: WORK: Teaching and Community Interaction. The primary project will be working with Newport youth who will earn academic credit in Social Studies by learning about volunteers homelands and preparing a multi-media presentation for the community. Vols will be expanding the world vision of rural NH youth. Mornings will be semi-formal instruction with use of computer laboratory; afternoons will be cultural with cooking- games- music- etc. Location: The organizers are experienced workcamp hosts in rural western New Hampshire- town population 6000. There will be several opportunities to experience the beauty of New Hampshire s lakes and mountains plus one all-day field trip with the students. Partner: The NEWPORT SCHOOL DISTRICT and the NEWPORT REVITALIZATION COMMITTEE host this project jointly. Requirements: LANGUAGE: Good English. VFP MOTIVATION FORM REQUIRED. No smoking or alcohol at housing. Basic computer skills- including PowerPoint- are helpful. Must enjoy working with teens.
