Ilulissat is Greenland’s third largest city and commune with over 5000 inhabitants of whom most people live in Ilulissat formerly known as Jakobshavn. The rest lives in the four villages Ilimanaq (Claushavn), Oqaatsut (Rodebay), Qeqertaq og Saqqaq. The city is located 300 km north of the polar circle close to one of the world’s largest ice fiords – Kangia. This provides a fruitful environment for fishing as well as tourism. The area is on Unesco’s list of one of the world’s nature inheritance. The workcamp will be a moving camp, as there will be work in the different villages, this means that the participants will get to see more parts of the beautiful area.
WORK:
The work will be to mark hiking routes taking exit point and in the different villages. The hiking routes will be an important asset for the locals and for tourists visiting, as the surrounding areas are very beautiful. The hiking tracks is important to protect the nature, make the nature more accessible and to prevent hiking accidents. The participants will be walking the routes and marking them as they go. Thus there will be a lot of hiking and some more or less demanding physical work.
Requirements:
Volunteers must be minimum 20 years. Also the participants need to be in good physical shape, as there will be a lot of hiking and physical demanding work.

In schools and maybe in tents some nights.
