COCAT Spain
COCAT - Coordinadora d'Organitzadors de Camps de Treball Internacionalls de Catalunya, is the partner organisation of VAP in Catalonia, Spain.
COCAT is a Catalan non-governmental and non-profit coordinating entity, created to represent the international workcamp organisations of Catalonia.
Its members are at the moment: CRUC, RAI, Fundació Escolta Josep Carol, Fundació Pere Tarrós; and will be the Catalan entities that have been organising international workcamps for the last two years.
The aims of COCAT are:
- To co-ordinate international workcamps in Catalonia.
- To develop workcamps and voluntary service as a tool for personal, collective and community development, with the values of interculturality, culture of peace and social justice and equality.
- To become the point of contact amongst entities organising international workcamps in Catalonia, the Catalan youth and the international volunteers, organizations and networks.
- To defend the interests of its members as well as the Catalan youth before any other public or private organisation, national or international.
COCAT AND WORKCAMPS
Our work camps bring young people from many different countries and cultures to work, live and have fun together while at the same time provide a valuable service to the local community.
What do we offer to young volunteers?

- A leader team to ensure that the project aims are met and that you are all happy and working as a group.
- Leisure activities to enjoy your free time while being in contact with local people.
- Accommodation and food during the work camp period.
- Accident and third part liability insurance.
What do we expect from workcamps participants?
- To participate in the project from the first day to the last one as a primary motivation.
- To come prepared to actively contribute to the life of the group. Everything from the cooking and cleaning to the farewell party is the whole groups responsibility.
- To work about 30 hours per week.
- To respect cultural and social diversity of the other participants and the locals.
- To bring your own health insurance.
- In 2024 VAP has:
