The Children's Village San Juan, is a government institution formed by a group of houses or homes that have the structure and function of a real family. Here is housed, protected and comprehensive care for 48 children and adolescents of different ages and various physical and mental conditions is provided. They are admitted by order of the judiciary through the Family Courts.
ACTIVITIES IN THE VILLAGE:
IMPLEMENTATION OF COMPREHENSIVE CARE PROGRAMS:
The San Juan, Children's Village has Integral Development Programs containing educational and training components that make possible the comprehensive and harmonious development of children and adolescents, facilitating the development of their physical, emotional, cognitive, interpersonal, artistic and spiritual capacities complementary basic education received in schools.
OCCUPATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMS:
The Children's Village also offers Alternative Programs for Teenage exceptionally remain in the institution until his majority or until the completion of high school. These programs are geared to technical and vocational training of adolescents, allowing them to prepare for adulthood and can cope with life independently and effectively. Programs currently have Bakery/Confectionery, Sewing/Embroidery, Bio-farming/Breeding and Juvenile birds workshops. Coming soon will be implementing Breeding guinea pigs and Fish farming.
AIMS OF THE PROJECT:
This project aims to contribute to the integral development of children and teenagers, through a process of non-formal education, Through it, children develop skills, nurture self-esteem, discovering their artistic, cultural, sports, literary skills, that allow them to improve their human condition through awareness of their behaviour.
PROJECT’S ACTIVITIES:
Academic activities, such as the support in certain school subjects. Implementing and developing various types of workshops that can develop the children's initiative and creativity. Recreational activities, such as sports, music, dance and handcrafts.
Schedule - Monday to Friday from 8:
30 to 13.30 and 15:00 to 17:30.
COMMUNITY GEOGRAPHIC CONTEXT:
The city of Pucallpa is located 850 km from the city of Lima; in the department of Ucayali in eastern central Peru on the banks of the Ucayali River. It is situated in the Amazon jungle at 154m above sea level. The tropical climate of Pucallpa is warm all year. The average temperature during the year is 26°C, with an average of 25ºC in July and an average of 26.5°C in the months of September to January. Average maximum temperature is 33°C and the minimum temperature is 21.5°C average.
VOLUNTEER’S REQUIREMENTS:
- Empathy with the environment where you are. - Ability to work in teams. - Easy to interact with children and teenagers. - Experiences in artistic and cultural activities (dances, music, theatre, etc.). - Spanish in Intermediate Level.
VOLUNTEER’S TASKS:
The volunteers will conduct various activities, according to their skills, experiences and interests, under the frame of the programme activities of the institution. Those can be for example, academic activities, such as the strengthening of some educational subjects; implementing and developing various workshops with the childrens that will raise their spirit of initiative and creativity; supporting in the workshops of painting and sports activities; recreational activities such as music, dance, handcrafts. The volunteers are going to work every day from Monday to Friday with a total of 48 children and adolescents except on weekends when they will have free time.
HOST SITUATION:
The volunteer(s) will live in the house of a family in Pucallpa city with basic services provided.
Pedacito de Cielo "Little Piece Of Heaven", is a programme based on the needs of the school for special children in Ventanilla-Pachacutec where volunteers BVBP come visiting all the important dates for children like Christmas chocolate, global day of youth volunteering, child day etc. where we as vision a program of education and emotional health for children and their families with low economic resources of the school Hellen Keller.
The main concept is done with volunteers in social work education art and motivation towards children and the community living together under principles of mutual respect and solidarity and working to achieve common goals, allowing the knowledge of different social realities cultural, economic, etc., both volunteers involved in the project and the local community in which it develops. Necessary for the participation of volunteers to do good work for the community.
Volunteers work in the "Little piece of heaven" program, making games, art education works that stimulate their understanding of children and families, working in conjunction with the teachers of special education for children.
Community Development:
We will make the production, editing, directing and recreation of a short film with children of school Hellen Keller. This film will focus on the dreams of children for their future.
Cultural exchange:
a cultural exhibition (national and international) volunteers involved in the field work, in order to share and publicize the customs of their country will be made.
LOCATION:
Ventanilla is a district of the Constitutional Province of Callao in Peru, and one of the seven districts that comprise the port city of Callao. Covering more than half of the province's territory, it is Callao's largest district. Among the local tourist, recreational and cultural resources are the Wetlands Archaeological Remains, Spa and Beaches, Cliffs and islets, Caves and Natural Monuments and downtown of Ventanilla and Callao city.
ACCOMMODATION:
Volunteers will be hosted in the homes of the families of the brigade of BVBP Ventanilla, where they will share rooms with other volunteers, with hall the basic necessities including wi-fi.
LANGUAGE:
English, but it would be very productive to know basic Spanish.
HOSTING FEES:
770 Nuevo Soles or 220 Euros. This payment made by the volunteers will cover the costs of lodging and food, as well as operational and administrative costs of the project. To be paid upon arrival.
The Youth Center its a community social space to generate citizenship, to create and educate. The Center provides services to women, children, youth, seniors and disabled to foster their personal development with entrepreneurship projects, health, non-formal education, culture, arts , recreation and sports. and the production of organic products that are grown in the garden of the house.
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
The volunteers will conduct various activities, according to their skills, experiences and interests, under the frame of the programmed activities “Youth Leaders in Action" - as well as academic activities, such as the strengthening of some educational subjects; implementing and developing various workshops with the girls that will raise their spirit of initiative and creativity; supporting in the workshops of sewing, weaving, painting and sports activities; recreational activities such as music, dance, handcrafts, implementing the home, making murals, painting rooms and planting organic vegetables and plants in the garden. The volunteers are going to work every day from Monday to Friday, except on weekend.

Palca is located in the Andes at 2,739 m 20 kilometers from the province of Tarma, the census population are approximately 7,698 INEI, the main activity of the people agriculture and livestock. Most families working in their own businesses (farms or shops). within an hour of the community is the Peruvian jungle, cities: chanchamayo, La Merced, posuso and native communities.
ACCOMMODATION:
Volunteers will stay in the Youth Center. It is important to mention that every volunteer should bring a sleeping bag.
LANGUAGE:
English, but it would be very productive to know basic Spanish.
