Short-term (2 to 4 weeks) "renovation work" project in Peru

This Project will let you develop an approach to the vivential knowledgme of rural life in the highlands of Peru. Volunteers will be in frequent contact with the Andean geography and demography, developing communal work with people from the community, children, youth and adults in typical community tasks.

Huaraz is located in the central-northern part of the country at an altitude of 3052 m, some 420 km north of Lima. Huaraz sits in the agriculturally important Callejón de Huaylas valley, at the foot of the Cordillera Blanca mountain range, which includes Huascarán, the highest mountain in Peru at 6768 m.

Toclla is located in the district and province of Huaraz, Ancash, access is done by the track Huaraz-Lima, 5 Km from the district of Huaraz. The altitude of the town is 3200 metres above sea level, recorded in the Callejon de Huaylas.

- Reforestation and improving the facilities of the Educational Institution No. 86012.
- Teaching youth and children the language you speak (English, French among others) as well as to learn the native language of Peru, Quechua.
- To participate in daily tasks with families (sowing, harvesting, irrigation building houses, etc).
- To participate in the activities of the community (communal tasks, patronal festivities among others).

Volunteers will stay in a house in the community. It is important to mention that every volunteer should bring a sleeping bag and if it is possible an air bed and/or a rubber one.

€190 euros. This payment made by the volunteers will cover the costs of lodging and food, as well as operational and administrative costs of the project.
