Cultural project of Tlaxcala, began with the interest of VIVA to create spaces where children can develop their artistic, sports, social and educational skills. VIVA through volunteering wishes to reactivate these spaces where the citizens of the neighborhoods of limited resources participate in workshops. Therefore, VIVA has established a multipurpose room in the Tlaxcala neighborhood, where activities are carried out.
Activities:
The volunteers will implement language, literacy, reading and writing workshops, as well as workshops on environmental protection, ecology and culture through recreational activities, whether with songs, games and / or crafts made with recycled materials. It is expected that volunteers can bring proposals for activities.

Tuxtla Gutiérrez Airport, Chiapas, arriving you have to take the bus to San Cristobal City. You can also travel in bus from Mexico City. The duration of this bus are 13 hours approximately.
Language:

Volunteers will stay at the VIVA volunteer house equipped with basic services such as water, electricity, gas and a kitchen to prepare food. Volunteers will share a room with other volunteers.
Participation Fee:
2300 Mexican Pesos per month. (approx. £90). The participation fee covers accommodation and partially the administrative cost which consist of the management, promotion, evaluation, monitoring and material of the projects. Furthermore, the accompaniment is provided during the volunteer period and the supervision of the activities on the project. It does not include food and local transport.
The City of the Indigenous Girls is a training and developing skills centre, which has the objective to provide tools to youngsters and adolescents, who came from vulnerable groups, to be reintegrated into employment. The centre organizes workshops in personal development as skill to women and youth between 16 and 30 years old, in order to better integrate them in society. The main mission is to create more possibilities for the indigenous kids, adolescents and young people, through strengthening their citizenship, their self-esteem and their skills in order to empower them. The work in the centre is focused on creating and strengthening the network with public and private entities, with the objective to create alternatives for the social, economic, cultural and civil development. The work is in different areas such as Human rights, education, poverty, trainings and personal development.
Impact - During the first 8 months the centre has reached 67 women through trainings, what it means 268 beneficiaries of an indirect way.

Within the public education system in Mexico, there is a service which has as objective to attend the students with specials educational needs with or without disability. The program promotes learning by having activities with didactic materials, games and workshops that help them learn in a fun way. This helps to increase the quality of education provide in these schools.
Activities:
Volunteers will be involved in activities such as...
- Workshops with children - will be divided into two blocks, the first level comprising 1st to 3rd grade and the second from 4th to 6th grade. The workshops will be given twice a week. The main objective is to offer children activities that stimulate and develop their creative skills through music, dance, games and crafts. - Parents workshops - "It is allowed to cry mom, it's allowed to cry dad”. A space created for parents who are in the process of mourning, to develop skills and create their own tools for recognize and heal the loss generated by a death or disability of a relative. - "My reading corner" - children narrators, promotes the reading through the approach of stories and cartoons. - "The information tour" - Conferences for mothers and fathers. On topics of interest (once a month.)
