"Summer Science School" (SSS) takes place every summer. Volunteers who have specific talents to share with children, especially in science areas but also music, drama, dance, handicrafts, origami, sculpture, English language, chess, drawing, etc. are welcome. SSS will continue for 10 weeks. Volunteers are expected to work at least for 2 weeks, arriving any Saturday to start the workshop on the Monday. Volunteers will either assist one of the planned workshops or a new workshop class will be open based on their talents. Any new ideas apart form the ones mentioned above are also welcome. If you propose a new workshop field you must be ready to prepare the content of the workshop & run it. Summer School workshops will take place every weekday, between 10.00 – 17.00 with a lunch break in between. Volunteers will be free for weekends.
Accomodation:
Volunteers will be hosted in Science Center. Sleeping bags & mats are necessary. Food will be supplied by Science Centers.
Location:
Istanbul Science Center is situated very close to the city centre. After 15 minutes walk, all the public transportations are available.

Special requirements:
Volunteers must send a motivation letter explaining their interest, talent & competency on the field they want to assist or lead and must be able to communicate well in English. They are also expected to be patient, tolerant, energetic and good in human relationship because they will work with children. Volunteers must be aware of the simple living conditions. The weather will be hot. Please note that, no alcohol - drugs are permitted during the camp at the campsite and the accommodation venue. Smoking is not allowed in the Science Centers building and accommodation areas and while with the children.
