International volunteers will work together with local volunteers. Two main areas of work with respective activities. Eco-volunteering: preparation of the festival area for guests, cleaning food courts, cleaning the territory during and after the festival. Designing of the festival space: painting and decoration of stationary objects in the camp, creating and constructing of art-objects, etc. All necessary tools will be provided.
Accomodation & food:
Camping site, tents will be provided by the host (recommended to take your own sleeping bag and mat, though if necessary they can be provided as well). Volunteers can use common summer showers, Russian sauna – "banya". Three meals, only VEGETARIAN menu.
Location & leisure:
Nizhny Novgorod region, territory of the surf-camp "FreeDom" at the Gorky Reservoir.Volunteers can participate in all activities, workshops (like playing traditional music instruments, art painting, dances, basics for fire-shows, etc.) and shows offered by the festival during their free time. Trips to nearby cities (Gorodets and Nizhny Novgorod) will be organised.It will be possible to practice your Russian (or learn some) with local volunteers!
Requirements:
Creative, open-minded and active volunteers, who share the values of the festival, are warmly welcome! We will be happy to see a small answer about the system of collecting garbage in your country on your VEF.

Art space Maryin House is a house-museum of fairy-tales author Maria Krivopolenova and art residence in the territory of the rural library of the Soviet period in remoted village Chakola. To save the place, its history and memory of Maria Krivopilenova, this art space Maryin House was created. To develop this place for volunteers organizers offer two types of work.1. Production of art objects (a fence with a northern-style ornament, a gate, a gazebo, etc.)2. The design of the internal space of the house, namely the manufacture of fabric panels in the traditional northern-style aesthetics.This work requires creativity, it allows to get practical experience in creating modern art objects made in the national Russian tradition. Work schedule i 2 days-off per week, work about 4-6 hours daily. Also some maintenance works can appear during the project connected with decoration and promotion of Art space Maryin House . There will be a person, who will explain everything, but still artistic skills are preferred.
Accomodation & food:
Accommodation will be organized in the building of the house-museum (beds, linens, dishes will be provided on site; sleeping bags are necessary). Bath will be provided in one of the houses of the village, toilet is on the street (typical village style). Meals are organized by the participants themselves, products will be provided. Feel the real village =)
Location & leisure:
Chakola village, Pinezhsky district, Arkhangelsk region. You can only get there by car from the city of Arkhangelsk (including two crossings across the river), but organizers will take care of it. The remote village, with a limited number of inhabitants, for this reason, vast forest spaces with mushrooms, berries and a beautiful river are virtually untouched. Every day you can enjoy swimming, fishing, Russian bath i banya (sauna), gatherings around the fire, picking mushrooms, berries. Volunteers will have the opportunity to become participants in creative workshops (photographers, artists, designers, etc.), which will be held during this period on the territory of Art Space.In addition, it is possible to arrange a visit to the local museum, excursions, Orthodox churches, meet with folk groups of the Pinezhsky district, where you can exchange cultural traditions, music, songs, dances, etc.
Requirements:
Artistic skills i work with fabric and/or wood or have a strong wish to learn all this.Knowledge of Russian is desirable, but not obligatory. In addition, the local community with great attention follow the work of our project, the project will be actively covered in the media, therefore, it is necessary that volunteers could leave the most positive impression, therefore welcome: no bad habits, honest attitude to work and the desire to learn traditional Russian culture, to show respect for it.Motivation letter is required. Insurance is not provided.Extra fee: 30 euro for covering administrative costs and local partner expenditures for the camp.
