FIYE 102 JEDRUS 1 Michalin 27.06-10.07 kids 12 18-26 WORK: The task will be to help the local community to organize a program called "Summer in the City," for the children and youth who are staying in the city during summer holidays. Volunteers will work in two youth centres of the local parishes, in two shifts. Half of the group will work before lunch, and the other half will work after lunch. The daily program will include: games, sports, arts and crafts, excursions, cinema outings, playground activities, swimming-pool, and other events. ACCOMMODATION: Volunteers will stay on the premises of the boarding school, in rooms equipped with all standard facilities - beds and sheets will be provided so there is no need to bring mattresses or sleeping bags. There is also a washing machine. During the week the meals will be served. At weekends volunteers may need to prepare their own meals, from the products bought by the host (the volunteers will have access to the kitchen). LOCATION: Michalin is a small town near Warsaw, located upon the Swider river and surrounded by the Mazovian Landscape Park. FIYE 10 STALOWA WOLA Stalowa Wola 2.08-16.08 KIDS 10 18-26 WORK: The volunteers will be working with children and youth from the orphanage to make their holidays more attractive. They will be teaching English in an informal way, organizing various games and sport competitions as well as intercultural activities such as cooking, dancing or singing lessons. Beside work in the orphanage, the volunteers will take part in excursions, rafting and bike trips together with orphanage residents. The volunteers will also visit similar institution located in Stalowa Wola. ACCOMMODATION: The volunteers will be staying on the premises of the orphanage in rooms equipped with standard facilities – beds and sheets will be provided. Meals will be served in the canteen. LOCATION: Stalowa Wola is one of the youngest cities in Poland with 65 thousand inhabitants. Although the city itself has a modern and almost industrial character, it is located in a very interesting area of Sandomierz Basin. Important historical sites such as Sandomierz, Lancut or Rzeszow are within easy reach from the city. TERMINAL: The nearest international airport is in Rzeszow. Stalowa Wola has also good bus and train connections with Warsaw and Cracow. LANGUAGE: English
