Pracownia Sztuki Zywej (The Workshop of The Alive Art Association) is a young but very active NGO aimed at preserving the public good and tradition, particularly in terms of rich culture and regional folk art. The projects which the Association sets up are mostly intended to develop a community of the local people. Festival of the Alive Art (3-5 of July) is one of the most important projects aiming at promoting folk art. The organizers try to combine traditional folk art with the modern art (inspired by folk art) to make it more vivid and interesting for the young people. Main attractions of the Festival are: concerts, workshops of the folk handicraft, Graffiti Jam and an exhibition "Street art vs. Folk art". You can see some pictures from the Festival in 2008 here: http://www.pracowniasztukizywej.org.pl/pl/galeria/festiwal-sztuki-zywej-2008/1 Volunteers are welcome to help the organizers in various activities before, during and after the festival. They will help to build the decorations, distribute leaflets and posters promoting the festival, support technical staff (pitching up the tents etc.), prepare meals for the artists, prepare the walls for graffiti (for the Graffiti Jam session), clean up the area where the festival will take place etc.

« I would recommend participating in a workcamp, especially with VAP, who ensured that I found a project to suit me and provided essential training for me in preparation for my trip. Being part of a workcamp really is a life-changing experience, oh, and it looks great on your CV! »
