In the Netherlands we have a lot of asylum seekercenters. These locations are the living areas formigrants and refugees who want to apply for Dutchcitizenship, because they cannot live in their owncountry anymore. Sometimes these persons live forseveral years in these centers and every half a yearthey have to move from one center to the other. Thecenters try their hardest to make their stay as pleasantas possible: they organize activities and Dutch languageclasses and they learn them about many aspects of theDutch society. The center in Winterswijk is one of thebiggest in the Netherlands and looks like a small villageon its own. In the summer holiday some of the childrencan spend time with family on other locations, but thechildren that stay in the accommodation are bored, because there is no school and they are not going onholiday. Our participants will organize recreational (suchas creativity classes and theatre) and sports activities forand with refugee children and youngsters of 4-18 yearsold, during their summer holiday.
