Short-term (2 to 4 weeks) "work with children/teenagers" project in Latvia

NGO “Youth for Smile” takes the initiative to organize a creative camp for youth with less opportunities from locals neighborhoods. Volunteers will help in organizing activities for youth in age from 13 till 16 years old. Using dance, music, art and theater methods we will look to give motivation for youth to develop themselves and local community.

Living conditions are very basic. The volunteers are accommodated in the local school or in the tents depending on weather conditions. Toilets and washing facilities are provided. Cooking is done by volunteers themselves.

Workcamp will be organized in Barbele. It is located in south of Latvia close to border with Lithuania (just 9 km). Barbele is 70 km from Riga.

Riga international airport or Riga international bus station.

During the weekends and leisure time volunteers will have opportunities to enjoy walking around the local neighborhood. Capital city of Latvia – Riga are located close to project place and it will be possibility to have a tour in it. Volunteers can visit as well one of the most beautiful palace in Baltic states – Rundale palace.

Since we do not receive funds to support your participation in the camp neither from the state nor from private sponsor, you are asked to contribute 50 Euro. The fee has to be paid by volunteers to host upon arrival to the camp.
