PROJECT:Camerata Nuova (850 m) is a small town in the province of Rome, located in the Park of Simbruini mountain. The territory of this country is characterized by the presence of the ruins of the original and millenary country, called "Camorata", located at 1200 meters high. The old country (also known as the Old Camerata ) has been destroyed due to a fire in 1859. The ruins in addition to being a significant archaeological site is located in a pristine environment, of great importance in a natural landscape rich in flora and fauna indigenous. The work site is 30 minutes distance by car from the school.
WORK:
Make available the trails leads to the ruins, in particular this year the original ancient paths shown on the Land Registry Gregorian. Volunteers will be engaged in cleaning and maintenance of trails under the sun and in hard condition.
LOCATION:
Camerata Nuova, in the province of Rome, between the border of Lazio and Abruzzo regions, Center of Italy.
ACCOMMODATION:
The volunteers cook, eat and sleep at a local school, equipped with showers and an indoor dining place.

Fiumicino Airport Station – Termini Train Station.
SPECIAL REMARKS:
Due to hard condition of the workcamp, is looking for determined volunteers, no allergies to food or pollen, non-asthmatics. Motivational letter is required.
PROJECT: Sorridere Insieme is a no-profit association that works in favor of deprived persons. It's mainly composed by young people, and in some periods of the year, we offer a food distribution service for needy families. We try to gather the youth of area to participate at educational activities. Our main purpose is the social reinsertion in a district of marginalization of the residents. Despite social individualism, of our historic period, in this context there is a frequent use of the "self-help".If this from one hand creates cohesion, on the other hand it generates isolation. For this reason, we want offer to the residents a open space to interaction and integration for development. "Zen in Inter-Renovation" is focused on renovation of a garden in state of abandon and on the Interaction for growth as an opportunity for mutual exchange.
LOCATION:
ZEN (Zona Espansione Nord), also known as San Filippo Neri, is an economically deprived quarter in the northern outskirts of Palermo, Sicily, near the seaside (4 Km).It has as a population of around 16,000 people.
WORK:
From August 2nd to August 6th, volunteers will work together with local people and will carry-out manual work such as:garden maintenance, weed and rubbish removing, gardening (planting of flowers).Volunteers will be provided with gloves and rakes. From August 7th, to August 10th, volunteers will carry-out intercultural activities with young and adult residents (sporting, cultural meals, exchanges of experience and best practices, multicultural dinners and moments)and also animation with local children.
August 11th:
dinner's preparation and greetings. Volunteers will work for an average of 5/6 hours in a day.
FOOD AND LODGEMENT:
Participants will be accommodated in one apartment in a district 15 minutes far to the workplace. Displacement will be done by buses and when it will possibleby car. Accommodation is equipped with 1shower, little camping kitchen and 1toilet (no washing machine, no wi-fi). Volunteers will sleep in sleeping bags which they must carry with them at the arrival. The location provides two main bedrooms which will be organized according to the volunteers' needs (Male or female only or mixed dorms).Staff will try to provide a more comfortable accommodation (mattresses, crash bed ).Volunteers will be able to cook in that structure. In the surroundings there are food services, bus stop and metro station. Staff will provide the food. Mainly: pasta, rice, tuna, tomato, milk, vegetables, yogurt, bread.Other foods in relation to the needs of volunteers (vegetarian and non-vegetarian food).
TERMINAL:
Closest airport is the International Airport of Palermo-Punta Raisi "Falcone Borsellino" (15/20 min by car). There are buses from Airport to central Station, but Staff will pick up Volunteers at the Airport.
