Volunteers will cooperate with the 7th board of Byzantine archives for the excavation of the temple of Saint Theodores in the Vathirema of Agia. The group will clean the vegetation and stones in the area around the temple. Another task of the project is to prepare and present educational workshops for 80 children. The activities will differ every week and will concern the environment, traditional dances, literature etc.
Accomodation:
Volunteers will be accommodated in the Primary School of the village. There are toilets, showers (hot water is not always available, but this is not to hard to handle during summer) and a kitchen. Sleeping bag and carry mat are necessary.

Agia is located in Kissavos, at an altitude of 250 m in the Dotio field and at a 37 km distance from the main town Larissa. Agia has also always been in the past a place of intense religious life, as evidenced by the large number of important religious monuments. Today, Agia, has become a modern city, where the apple and cherry trees, cover a large area of cultivated land

Closest international airports are Athens and Thessalonika. The closest train station is Larissa. The workcamp place is connected through buses to Larissa
Volunteers will work in different villages of the municipality, such as Potamia, Metaksochori and the Megalovriso. Specifically they will work on the improvement and renovation of the different municipal buildings (painting, cleaning or reconstruction) with the guidance of local artists. Volunteers will also prepare and present educational workshops for 80 children. The activities will differ every week and will concern the environment, traditional dances, literature etc.

Volunteers will help in the preparation of a cultural festival that will be realised from 1st until 10th of September. They will help in the setting up of the festival and they will also partake in creative activities for children, such us: music, theatrical games, environmental activities and anything else that volunteers are interested in and able to partake in. In order to help the team to realise these activities, we will organise some workshops for the first week of the project. We require very motivated volunteers with strong communicative skills. They will work alongside local volunteers.
Accomodation:
Volunteers will be hosted at a public school (Oropos old prison). Toilets, showers and cooking facilities are provided. Participants will prepare meals themselves, in shifts.
Location:
Oropos is situated in the Viotia region, on the Southern Euboean Gulf, in Attica.
