The Barleben community will be celebrating its 950th birthday in 2012. This almost 1000 year old history will be celebrated by everyone, right down to the youngest in the community. Location & leisure:
The Barleben community is located 10 km north of Mageburg. After work, you can jump into a nearby lake, play beach volleyball, relax, etc-everything one does in summer. In Barleben you can use the skate park and soccer area. It is not far to Magdeburg for activities such as bowling or going to the movies. You will be able to use bikes, with which you can take trips to Magdeburg or to the local canals and watch them work.
Your help is needed to plan, organize, and run a large game festival for children, youth, and families in Ingolstadt, from May 29 until June 6, 2012. On the Fronte 79 grounds you will be taking care of the children while running various game stations with different creative, musical, artistic, and adventure pedagogical offerings. Please bring game and craft ideas from your home countries The game festival is the opening ceremony of the Game Offerings 2012 (Spielmobilangebote 2012) of the Youth Department of the city of Ingolstadt (www.sjr-in.de). Note: During the first week you will have time to prepare the program and get to know one another, as well as explore the surrounding area. From May 29th until June 6th you will be working 8 hours a day (including weekends), which will probably be divided into two shifts.

Location & leisure:
The city of Ingolstadt is located on the Danube River, and has many historical sights to offer. The old city center is marked by its churches, castles, and city halls. You can swim in the local pool or in a lake 2 kilometers away, walk along the Danube, relax in the park, go to the zoo, or visit one of the many museums the city has to offer. You can also take trips to Nuremberg or Munich.
Requirements:
A basic knowledge of German and pedagogical talent are required, and you should enjoy working with children.
Do you enjoy playing with children and would like to worth with other youth to ensure that the children in Wismar have a fun summer camp? Over 100 kids between the ages of six and ten take part in a large summer camp every year in Wismar. Every day runs under a different motto. Your help is needed to enrich the camp by bringing creative and athletic games to ensure a great camp. You are also welcome to bring other games, songs, and craft ideas to give the camp an international flair. During the first week of camp you will have time to plan and include your creative touch. With a few events in the city center you will show the kids what they can experience with you during the camp.

You will be living in the Wagenburg, a small camp with covered wagons, a grill, a clay oven, and which is full of adventure. Meals will be prepared as a group.

It is located at the outskirts of Wismar, but you will be provided with bikes to take trips into the city and to better explore the area, which includes the Baltic Sea. In the Wagenburg you can play volleyball and soccer. The city of Wismar is one of the most beautiful of the old Hanseatic Cities on the Baltic Sea coast. The city center is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and along with its harbor is well worth a visit. You will also have many opportunities to travel to cities such as Luebeck, Rostock, and Poel Island. Requirements:
You should enjoy spending time with children. Basic knowledge of German will make it easier to communicate with the kids, but is not absolutely necessary, as the camp language will be English. Please remember to bring games, songs, and crafts for the camp

The Youth Farm of Erlangen is a pedagogic adventure playground complete with animals, located in the middle of the forest. We offer child and youth work, programs on environment and adventure pedagogy, animal supported pedagogy, child care during school breaks, and many other projects. We will rebuild all stalls and complete the ambience with quiet areas and green oases. Together with the children and youth that will be visiting us at that time, we would like to do as much as possible ourselves. Your team can do carpentry work, work in the garden, and create projects for the children. Naturally, feeding and taking care of the animals is always a part of the job During the camp a few others will come to help build the wooden building and will also stay with us at the camp. The Falckenstein Youth Village is home to an annual five week long beach summer camp for local children, ages 6-11. Together with other helpers, your team will make a camp program for a group of kids. Every week runs under a different motto: Magic , The Vikings , or Falckenstein Idol you can get experience in game pedagogy or use your knowledge to help the others. If you enjoy being around children and want to make crafts, play dress up, swim, and build sand castles, you are going to have a wonderful time at this camp. You can bring in your own ideas as well as games and songs from your home country. Since the children go home in the afternoon, you will have the chance to spend the evenings together on the beach or around the bonfire. During the first week you will get to know the team, the project, and Kiel, and after that will be working 8 hours a day.

You will be sleeping in simple, tent like structures with only a roof. Some meals will be provided and others will be prepared together.

When the evening sun shines right on the neighboring beach, you can swim in the Baltic Sea, relax, play volleyball or table tennis, and spend the evenings around the grill. During the project you will be working with other team members from Germany and together are responsible for various groups of children. Therefore you should be able to communicate with these helpers in German or in English. The city is reachable in just over an hour by public transportation. The city has a population of 200,000 and therefore offers countless activities and shopping possibilities.

The work aspect of the project is consisting of various renovations. Some renovations planned are: painting, floor work, wood work, and cleaning activities. In order to prepare for the festival light and sound equipment must be set up. Support assistance is also needed at the festival. For example; the serving of food and beverages, as well as all other things that needs to be done during the festival. During the second or third week, the international participants are given a chance to offer their ideas and activities to the children of the community of Rodenbach during their holiday games. The most requested activities are: music, arts and crafts, games, etc.

The municipality of Rodenbach is a central location in the Rhein-Main area and that makes it possible to visit the cosmopolitan city of Frankfurt and other interesting places.
Following the motto Ruhr Region Adventure , your help is needed to run an intercultural summer camp for children between the ages of 6-12. You will be discovering the Ruhr area with the children on various days. Games, sports, and crafts will be offered as well as an excursion once a week, so that the kids playfully travel through the Ruhr area. Please bring game and craft ideas from your home country Recipes, songs, and sports that you know are also very welcome and will help to enrich the camp. A day will be spent introducing you to the camp.

Free Time: On arrival weekend, the Bochum Total music festival will be taking place. Bochum is located in the heart of the Ruhr region. It offers its own colorful cultural scene as well as good train connections to countless nearby cities such as Dortmund, Cologne, and Dusseldorf. Location: North Rhine-Westphalia; Dortmund 20 km, Cologne 85 km.

The Social Pedagogical Institute organization runs a well furnished cultural and leisure center, called Pegasus, in the city of Senftenberg. From here you can easily reach the city center as well as the local lake with its water sports centers by foot. Your part of the project will be to support the kids summer camp. They come to Pegasus during the day and are watched by the teachers there. You will be accompanying them through athletic activities, cooking, and will go on trips with the kids. You can even bring in your creative side while building play toys for inside or for the outside grounds.

You will be staying at the Pegasus center, and will sleep on either mattresses or cots. Catering: Meals will be prepared as a group.
Location & leisure:
The Pegasus center offers you countless ways to spend your free time. There is an internet cafe, a movie theater, and a youth bar as well as a large outside area which includes various sports fields, table tennis, a trampoline, and a climbing wall. You will also have the opportunity to explore the beautiful landscape around the area, go ice skating in a local ski hall, canoe, or go to Dresden and enjoy all that is to offer there.
