Make your own TV program in this international media camp After an introduction into the technology, you will develop a storyline and afterwards shoulder the camera yourself In the studio you can then edit the material. At the end of the camp, the film will be presented to the public in a live broadcast-organized by you The technology and space for the project is provided by the Offene Kanal Flensburg, a public TV channel. You will be led by an experienced media teacher and will learn a lot about working with videos and TV. Previous knowledge is not necessary, but is always welcome. The Flensburg youth organization is your host and will invite some local youth to take part in your project.

You will be staying at the DIE EXXE youth center and will sleep on air mattresses. Meals will be prepared as a group.

Flensburg is the northernmost city in Germany and offers many places to go sightseeing, shop, cultural activities, and of course, a lot of water. On the weekends you can take trips to the North and Baltic Seas, to a few islands, or to Denmark.

Heckenbeck is home to the the Weltbuhne (World Stage), a cultural center with a large theater in a former guest house. The town has a fun mix of traditional and experimental rural life, made of old traditions and new tendencies. There is an organic shop, an organic vegetable garden, a free school, and many organizations. You will be staying here for three weeks, to get to know the town and to spend two weeks preparing an international drama together with a drama instructor. Together you will practice role playing, have language training, work on interaction, and improvisation. The theater will be open for you to rehearse in. Free Time: Heckenbeck is very rurally located. For excursions and grocery shopping trips, you will be provided with bikes. The city of Bad Gandersheim is 4 km away and easily reached by bike. This camp is all about herbs and spices as well as enjoying healthy, naturally aromatic cooking. We will build a mobile, creative soup/herb/spice stand out of wood with diverse information and games, which can then be used in day care centers and schools. We will plant a spice wall on the Environmental Station s grounds for its visitors and create an imaginative sign. We will also try out new ideas and international bread and soup recipes with our bread oven, and at the end we will make a recipe book (scrapbook) with our recipes. Please bring soup recipes and the typical spices/herbs for them from your home countries Along with the construction and integration of your ideas, we will also discuss the topic of healthy eating and ecological agriculture. Radio Tonkuhle is the local radio for Hildesheim and the area, where the residents can participate too Everyone who wishes can contribute their own interests, creating a diverse, colorful, round the clock program. A set of music series dedicate themselves to styles from all parts of the charts. You will learn how to work the radio: working with the reporting tools, question techniques for interviews, studio technology, and moderation. Your group will plan and create your own radio report, which will also be moderated by you. At the end of the project, your creation will be on air You will be led by professional radio reporters. Location & leisure:
You are open to use all the leisure activities available in the youth center (foosball, table tennis, internet). A small sound studio in the house can also be used for the radio workshop. A swimming hole is within walking distance from your accommodation. Hildesheim is an old, historic city; the cathedral and the St. Michael s Church are both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
