As in previous years you will help in the maintenance of the Vita Parcours fitness trail. Your task will mainly be to clear the trail of over-grown plants. Besides, you will set up an herb trail in the Naturlehrgarten , a park that includes several stations which explain to visitors about environmental issues. Therefore you will plant herbs and willows as well as set up the paths. Last but not least, along the famous path way Camino de Santiago there will be plenty of cleaning work to do for you.

The team will stay in the local youth club called JUZ . The building includes a kitchen and all necessary facilities. The local youth who normally visit the club, are looking forward to welcoming you and get to know the group.

Heilsbronn with its 9300 inhabitants is located in the idyllic Bavarian region called Franken ( Franconia ). The town lies along the path known as the Way to St. James or Camino de Santiago . For this reason, the town is frequently visited by tourists as well as pilgrims. Apart from the traditional, half-timbered houses the town offers a few unique sites, such as the Romanesque monastery and the local cathedral. A guided tour might be organised for you. Besides, the town arranged free entrance to the outdoor swimming pool for you. Nature-lovers can find several hiking trails in the beautiful surrounding landscape.

The Horte is a self-run, alternative youth project. During the first week, there will be a workshop where you can try your hand at working with metal. The goal here is to create a nifty entrance door for the youth center. During the second week, we will build a garden hut and discuss the topics of outdoor yards and sustainability. To fit with our slogan, you can visit nearby projects that deal with this motto. In the building there is a pub with a concert area, a photography lab, workshops, sports and music rooms, and a library. Additionally, eight youth live there together. Outside, you will find a garden with a fire pit, hammock, and a terrace as well as a large field for soccer. You will also have the opportunity to use the nearby gym. Those who have an analog camera may bring it for the photo workshop. If you have a musical instrument, feel free to bring it

Those who wish may participate in a silk screen and/or a photography workshop, visit a climbing area, or play music in the rehearsal rooms. You will have access to a lake only ten minutes away, which is perfect for swimming and lying in the sun. You can play volleyball, soccer, table tennis, basketball, go canoeing, or even take a trip to Berlin
Your help will be divided into two parts. During the 1st week of your workcamp a “Creative Workshop” is planned. You will mould a wall with an artist from Halle/Saale. You will work creatively with colours, paper and photography in the rooms of the Cranach Coutyards (http://www.lutherstadt-wittenberg.de/cranach-haeuser-und-hoefe.html?&L=1).
Besides this work you will get the opportunity to learn more about the story of Luther and Cranach. Lutherstadt Wittenberg will organise a lot of activities in the frame of the “Cranach Year”, to celebrate his 500th Birthday. Your work will be a part of the activities / celebrations.
In the following two weeks you will work outside to signpost the “Lutherweg = Luther's path” a pilgrim’s path around Lutherstadt Wittenberg to Dessau / Anhalt. There is a site about this path, where you can find more information, unfortunately only in German: www.lutherweg.de.
The city of Lutherstadt Wittenberg is preparing the celebrations for the anniversary year 2017, “500 years of Reformation”. Other works are possible, please be prepared to support the host.
You will have the opportunity to participate in the “Wittenberger ErlebnisNacht”, a night full of art events and light shows in different parts of the city. During the weeks outside you will go to the work by bike everyday. So it is REALLY important that you are able to ride a bicycle!

Two parks for the Bavarian Garden Show Natur in der Stadt (Nature in the City) will be created in downtown Alzenau. Their 9 hectors will focus on the topics of Energy and Generations Together . Your team will help with the end of the show. Through working together with the Jump Youth Center, you will also have contact to local youth as well. You will be staying close to the garden grounds in a school. Together with the Jump Youth Center, your team will create an art project at the garden show. Painted boards, that guests painted as a type of garden show diary, will be built into a fence. This fence will document the guest s impressions of the garden show and will remain there until the end of the show. A few kilometers away, the Freigerichter Lakes are a great place to swim and for leisure activities. You can also take trips in Bavaria, as well as in Hessen, and can get to know these beautiful German states. The cities of Aschaffenburg and Frankfurt are easily reached as well.
The Holznagelhausen Adventure Playground is a summer camp offered by the Veitshoechheim community. Together with other volunteers, your team will be supervising 200 children ages 7-13, divided into 14 groups, on a large piece of land. You will build wooden huts, offer various sports and workshops (from soccer to baseball, pizza baking in a clay oven, as well as crafts and adventure games). Lots of fun will be had together A high point is an overnight stay in the huts with a night hike. You can bring your ideas and other things you can offer ready to go, learn how such a youth camp is organized, work in a large team, learn new languages, and make new friends. This summer camp has been running for 31 years and is therefore a long, successful tradition in Veitshoechheim. It is run by a youth organization in Veitshoechheim, which has been active in the community for 26 years. During the overnight stay in the huts with the night hike and other associated activities, you will work until approximately 2:00 am. The children will then stay where they are, and your team will return to your accommodation for the rest of the evening. On your last evening, there will be a good-bye party with the other volunteers. Veitshoechheim is a community with about 10,000 residents and is located on the Main River near Wurzburg (the capitol of the region).

15 km from the university town of Wurzburg lies the Gramschatz Forest Experience Center, in the middle of the woods. Here, you will help build a one kilometer long, handicap accessible sensory trail. You will work in small groups and therefore learn various tasks. Additionally, your team will help with renovation tasks on the grounds of the center. Creativity and a desire to work in the forest are needed A team from the Forest Experience Center will guide your team, and you will live together not far from the center. Every year the volunteers are taking care of a playground which needs to become nicer and friendlier and equipped with new swings or slides. The work will include the renovation of a playground for example the construction of different tools and the playground borders. This year you will be supported by professionals with whom you will have the possibility to design the playground with your own creative ideas

You will stay in the Walddecksporthalle , a local gym. Beside the large exercise room, there are also three smaller rooms and, of course, enough showers. You will cook by yourself in the well-equipped kitchen.

Under a small inner courtyard in the medieval area of the castle there are old vaults which are endangered by penetrating rainwater. The volunteers taking part in the projects B04 and B05 will introduce an isolating clay layer in order to protect the medieval vaults. Additionally, the participants of the project B05 will erect scaffoldings in another part of the castle as preparation for the project B06.

Our houses are mostly situated in rural countrysides and small villages, so you should not expect busy places and normal city activities for the leisure time during the working days. Small trips in walking distance are possible in the afternoon.On the weekends it is possible to organise excursion to nearby cities or have other leisure activities.
