There will be two main tasks: 1. To renew some parts of the playground linked to the local kindergarten (renovation of playing tools, gardening work, benches -) and 2. To set up a flying fox (cableway) as playing tool on the local playground. There might be some actions with children in the kindergarten as well. So please be prepared to present your country to local children.

Schillingen is a village 30 km from Trier in a beautiful landscape. The area is well known for cycling, walking and other ways of outdoor activities. The local holiday resort offers more than 200 holiday bungalows next to a lake. But also people from the area come here for cycling (there is a 45 km cycling path on a former railway roadbed) or to spend a nice day outside. Schillingen has a nice public swimming pool. The region also offers plenty of historic sites (castles, museums-.). You will also get the opportunity to come in contact with local associations as e.g. the local voluntary fire brigade. But public transport is poor during the weekend, so the number of excursions will be limited. But for sure Trier with the famous Roman sites, with the cathedral and birth place of Karl-Marx can be visited.
You will help the British artist and sculptor Robert Koenig (www.robertkoenig-sculptor.com) to set up his exhibit, and help support him with his grand opening (at the drink area). You will have the opportunity to participate in a workshop with him (carving with wood). During the second half of camp, your team will help cut walls free from brush and help build a dry stone wall, as well as build covered seats for a grill, cut firewood, and do other necessary tasks. You will likely work in the mornings, with some work on the weekends (for the grand opening). You will then have Fridays off.

Take a bike ride through this beautiful landscape, to nearby swimming areas, along the Neckar River, or to the Biosphere area at the foot of the alps. In your free time, you will also have the opportunity to swim, climb in the alps, hike, or canoe along with discovering Nuertingen and the student city of Tuebingen. The state capital of Stuttgart is only a half hour train ride away, and offers museums, shopping, a planetarium, theater, etc.
Naturspur (literally translated, trace of nature ) is a nonprofit organization that along with its nature and environmental work, builds nature-like play landscapes with children, parents, and local residents. All are participants in the construction. A piece of land in Otterstadt offers the ideal setting for natural and adventure education experiences. Your help is needed Together with local residents, your team will renovate a playground and get it ready for the upcoming summer camp Along with building huts for the construction tools, your team will begin the year s hut building season. This means lots of woodwork: trimming boards, cutting, and screwing. Additionally, maintenance tasks such as mowing, watering, and harvesting are also planned for your team.

The cities of Speyer and Mannheim offer diverse cultural and leisure programs. The city of Heidelberg, with its picturesque castle is well worth a trip.
You will renovate the playground of a primary school in Rottenburg. Professionals will instruct you during the work. The parents and children of the school are looking forward to helping you with the work.

You will be accommodated in the gym directly next to the school in Rottenburg. Camp beds and sanitary facilities are provided. During the week you can eat lunches in the school.
Location & leisure:
Rottenburg offers various cultural as well as sport activities: museums, swimming pools, canoeing and an outdoor climbing wall. Nearby, there are hiking trails and castles which invite you to spend a relaxing day in the nature. The university town Tuebingen with plenty of cafes and bars is only 12km away and also Stuttgart can be reached in 1 hour by train.

The volunteers will carry out different works in the castle s complex and its surroundings. They will do small renovation works and woodworks in and around the castle in order to protect and to restore the historical buildings. Additionally, the participants will clear up different parts of the ensemble and take care of the green area around by cutting grass, mowing the lawn, digging up the garden, clearing it of weeds and cleaning historical walls from roots.

In the last workcamp with the help of a local artist benches of encounter have been designed and a big mural has been created on the wall of a construction site trailer in the local kindergarden. This year we are invited to be even more creative: In the entrance of the local church, there is a picture as memorial in remembrance of the killed German soldiers of 1st World War. We will be asked: How can arise a perspective for peace and reconciliation out of the past? We will discuss the militaristic and nationalistic approach of this memorial. The artist Ulrike Speckmann will help us to create another picture as a reflection and the result will be shown also in the entrance of the church. To contact the different social groups of the parish, from children to the older generation, is wished for, and part of the workcamp. Study part: How to tackle the subject peace artistically, local history as starting point of an international movement. Leisure time: Excursions to local places of interest, like the crossing of 4 channels and other sites.

The town Datteln is part of the mining region in the north of the Ruhr area with approx. 35 000 inhabitants in the federal state Nordrhein-Westfalen. Four waterways for shipping traffic are crossing in Datteln. The river Lippe and the region Munsterland are nearby. Next bigger towns are Recklinghausen, Dortmund and the very nice and famous students town Munster.
Bielefeld needs your help to clean and renovate a local playground to make it useable for the local children again Your team will fix the equipment, sandbox, and other areas in need of repair, redo the ground of the playground, construct pathways, and new security measures for the children. Your creative side is also needed, since you will paint the new equipment however your group wishes At the end, there will be a dedication ceremony with the children and their parents in the area, which your group will organize.

Location: North Rhine-Westphalia; 50 km east of Munster, Hanover 80 kmFree Time: Bielefeld, a city with 300,000 residents, is located at the edge of the Teutoburg Forest. The city offers lots of recreational and cultural activities, such as music, theater, movie theaters, pubs, etc. The forest is a great place for hiking. There are travel opportunities to local cities such as Hanover, Osnabruck, and Munster.
Under a small inner courtyard in the medieval area of the castle there are old vaults which are endangered by penetrating rainwater. The volunteers taking part in the projects B04 and B05 will introduce an isolating clay layer in order to protect the medieval vaults. Additionally, the participants of the project B05 will erect scaffoldings in another part of the castle as preparation for the project B06.
