The city of Augsburg is very happy to invite their 10th international workcamp! This year, they cooperate with an organisation called “Tuer an Tuer” (“next door to each other”) that helps refugees in various ways and helps them to integrate in the local society.
WORK:
There are two types of work: First, there will be a street festival taking place on June the 20th, the World Refugee Day. It will take place in an accommodation for refugees and the surrounding area to bring local people and the residents in contact. Your tasks will be to promote the festival in advance, to help preparing the decoration, setting up the stalls etc. During the festival you can help with childcare, selling food and drinks and of course you are welcome to bring your own ideas: Do you know some traditional games or food that you would like to present? Would you like to bring pictures, etc.? Feel free to do so! In the second week, you will help with renovation and construction work in the so called “Europadorf” (“Village of Europe”). This district of Augsburg was founded in 1957 to provide housing for former refugees, and still today, it offers an affordable home for people from around the world. The park and playground there need some maintenance work, so your help is highly appreciated!
