Participants of this international workcamp will help with putting up a BMX course and near-natural climbing park for kids. These actions are going to happen in cooperation with Westfalisches Kinderdorf e.V. (a social organisation which takes care after children). Therefore it would be great if the participants could have some biking and skating experience. However, skating and biking abilities are not necessary The equipment will be available. On the Saturday the 16th of July there will be a big celebration as introduction of the new course.
Accomodation & food:
The participants will be accommodated in a house in the centre of Blomberg. Accommodation includes cooking facilities and food. Sufficient sanitation facilities will be available, too. The participants, however, should bring a sleeping bag or blankets.
Location & leisure:
The project is linked to a cultural programme, which offers the participants the opportunity to get to know Blomberg and its region. Near Blomberg there are some bigger cities like Detmold (75,000 inhabitants, distance: 15km) and Bielefeld (300,000 inhabitants, distance 50km) in the west and Hannover (600,000 inhabitants, distance: 50km) in the northeast. There will be a variety of meetings with young people from Blomberg in the evenings and at the weekends. Furthermore the participants can take part in excursions and school visits. There will be one or two days which can be used for private matters and one s own interests.
The volunteers are asked to help on the excavation ground of the fortress with building work, painting walls or cleaning. You will do punctured excavations (1m x 1m) and filter the finds. Other tasks can be removing of bushes or documentation of your work.
