This year, you will participate in the restoration of a park surrounding wall, in order to do that you shall use traditional masonry techniques. First you will repair the top of the wall and then you will be able to consolidate the structure by making new seals.

You will sleep near the local campsite, in two-person tents (please bring your sleeping mat). The group will be sharing the cleaning chores and preparing meals together. The budget will be allocated to the group leader, shopping will be done together with him/her and you will participate in the preparation of dishes with products from the market and local producers (if possible).

Dinard (around 10 000 inhabitants) is a seaside resort located in the county of « Ille-et-Vilaine » (35). It has a very rich built heritage with several historical monuments and seaside luxurious villas, which makes it a very attractive place! On your free time, you will be able to enjoy the beach and the sea or go visiting the city. You can take a walk on the "sentier des douaniers", one of the most famous and beautiful coastal path of France. Some interesting excursions are also available to discover the corsair city of Saint-Malo for example. You may enjoy leisure activities with the young people from the "Spot" as well.
Requirements:
You will have to bring warm clothes (trousers, sweater; socks, closed shoes, rain clothes) and light ones (skirt or shorts, t-shirt, open shoes) because weather can change very suddenly in Brittany. You can literally experience all four seasons in one day! Please also take with you working clothes, gloves and shoes in addition to your best swimsuit. Bring rubbers boots or some sort of shoes that allows you to work in the water! You will restore the old hut in a sustainable way, supported by your technical leader, you will use the techniques of dry stones to restore the entry, and day by day, rebuild the wall of stones. At the same time you will restore the old natural basins.

The lakes and rivers in the surroundings have been an opportunity to develop a lot of water sports or activities. Quillan is seen as an international center for water sports.Surrounded by 3 natural parks, the nature lovers can participate at many activities in the ‘Centre Sports Nature de la Forge' (hikes, canoe, mountain bike, rafting, climbing…).You can find a great cultural heritage close to Quillan, discover the Cathars Castles (Puivert 15km, Puillaurens 17km and Arques 22km) but also the Quillan castle and his old church.

You will meet volunteers from another international workcamp, situated in Ebreuil (10 km) and may organize some activities together. Classrooms and libraries of the schools' buildings are ageing and needy of a serious refurbishing. You will participate in ameliorating student's daily lives by making them more welcoming and adapted. Painting will be the main task of the workcamp, on school buildings as well as outdoor elements around the premises. A municipal employee will be made available to accompany you on site.

At the local campsite, under big tents lent by the town hall. You will have access to showers and bathrooms, and an outdoor kitchen will be set up. You will also have free access to their swimming pool, « pétanque » field and volleyball pitch.

Montech, 15km south-west of Montauban and 50km north of Toulouse.Leisure activities : Numerous summer events, active associative life, and a dynamic local environment will enrich your immersion in the village life. During your free time, you will have the opportunity to discover not only the natural environment by accessible walk trails along the canals or thourgh the « Agre » forest, but also the architectural and cultural heritage of the region. You will be able to visit the surrounding cities such as Montauban or Beaumont-de-Lomagne. And, you will also cooperate with local associations to organise events (festive, cultural, social,..), therefore, multiplying the possibilities of local encounters.
You will participate in the cleaning of the site and the protection of the Gallo-Roman villa of Camblanes. This year's work will focus on the enhancement of the site. You will have to rebuild a small wall the exact same way romans use to build them. You will also have to do some landscaping in order to establish a clear perimeter of the area.

The workcamp will be led by a professional from the "Compagnons du devoir" who will show you how to restore a part of the paths and some stone walls of this lost hamlet. Last year they discovered a huge "apié" (bee wall) which is a few hundred years old. This year workcamps will allow you to observe bee hives and you will try to seed swarms of black bees, an endangered endemic species.
Accomodation & food:
The first and the last night you will be hosted in a hostel at Le Vernet city, where you will sleep with another volunteer (2 single beds per room). The other nights you will sleep in tents (tipi), except for the 2 days' hike when you will sleep in a mountain shelter at 1800m of altitude. You will be part of a group of 11 volunteers, coming from all around the world. Meals will be taken on the workcamp. During the camp, volunteers will also be able to cook some dishes and organize a shared meal with the local population.

The close villages of Prads-Haute-Bleone and Le Vernet account less than 200 inhabitants. They are nestled in the Haute-Provence Alps, at 1300m of altitude. Thanks to its exceptional nature, hiking and other outdoor sports are much appreciated. It's also very quiet, so you will relax a lot. Two qualified sports educators will accompany you throughout the stay as well as more specific coaches for thematic hikes (Meditation, mountain pastures, well-being). Relaxation and recuperation moments (well-being massages) are offered.

The two main tasks are building and garden landscaping. You will participate in the construction of a collective kitchen by trying out different handiwork jobs, this kitchen will allow Citrus to feed many groups. You will also help in the landscaping of the gardens and the hosting site on the farm. All the work will be supervised by members of the Citrus association.

Laguépie, located 100 km north east of Toulouse, between Albi and Villefranche-de-Rouergue.Leisure activities : A passionate local host will teach you how to cook seasonal dishes using the vegetables grown in the garden. Food workshops will also be organized so that you can learn the basics of a healthy diet. During your free time, you will have the opportunity to go swimming and hiking, and to meet with the other volunteers from the workcamp and from Laguépie. You will also be able to organize evening pizza dinners and game nights, and to visit the medieval villages of Najac, Cordes sur Ciel, and Saint-Antonin Noble Val.
The remains of multiple fortified buildings dating back to the period of religious wars, the cemetery, and the chapel of « Giscons », also known as La Mère Église, are located in a restrictive place. In 2017, a first international workcamp began clearing and restoring the remains of the ancient site on the northern part of the site. This year, you will intervene by continuing this work and by restoring another part of the site. This will be your opportunity to learn traditional techniques of masonry work, and to discover the proper functioning of this building that survived different wars.

Saint Disdier en Dévoluy (31 km from Veynes).Leisure activities : The Dévoluy Valley offers numerous outing possibilities. According to your tastes and desires, from being on the mountains (there are 200 km of hiking trails, multiple rock-climbing sites, and canyoning, to enjoying activities organized by the leisure center of Superdévoluy). You will also be able to visit heritage sites and go on walking tours to discover villages on hills, farms, and sheepfolds.
