La Ferté sous Jouarre is the world capital of limestone. The community of this village aims to upgrade the historical important heritage. This is why they are looking forward to host international volunteers, which are going to restore the local patrimony constructed of those limestones. Volunteers will be hosted at the centre of the association and will therefore have the possibility to meet a group of 12 local volunteers. Furthermore, a lot of activites and get-togethers with the inhabitants are planned. Some exemples: canoeing, screenings of films, international festivals. The volunteers will certainly have the possibilty to discover the cultural patrimony of the region and make excursions to Paris.

The association Citrus is restoring an ancient ruined farm, called "la Mayounelle", to build an international hosting centre in the village of Laguépie, in the very heart of the famous natural site, the Gorges of the Aveyron river. Guided by a landscape architect and a team of dynamic leaders, you'll have to conceive and realize the landscaping of the farm's surroundings.

The leisure time will bring you to discover this beautiful area, through hiking, canoeing on the Aveyron river, and many more surprises.
Renovation work around an old pool. This project is willing to include during several days 5 young people who come from the region.
Project:
Suèvres is a small village with a large architectural and historical heritage which need renovation works. The municipality in cooperation with the youth sector is working on many projects for young people. Beside,. After their first experience last year, they will host a new international workcamp. This year the volunteers will work on the walls situated around an old pool. At the same time, a sustainable development awareness program will be run on a daily life basis and through workshops organised together with the volunteers.

The association "Le Créneau" is situated in a little castle in the heart of a large property in the region "Auvergne". It hosts throughout the whole year persons of different cultural and social backgrounds, who work voluntarily. Their aim is to find a different way of life. The volunteers will participate in the reconditioning of the place, mainly of hiking ways and a small water course.

The village of Bucey les Gy and the Association of heritage protection will organize their first international workcamp in 2010. You and 10 other international volunteers will be welcomed to work on stones with 10 French teenagers living in the village. The work consists in the rehabilitation of a path (small road between houses) leading to the top of the village. You will be guided by three campleaders and a technical leader. Afternoons are devoted to the meeting with local population and to the discovery of the region Franche-Comté.
ACCOMMODATION:
In the Community Centre, you will sleep on camp beds.
During two weeks, the association "Loisirs populaires Dolois" and the municipality of Authumes will work together for the organization of this workcamp. You will work on the renovation of an old wash-house (pavement, sealant, etc.) in the morning and will participate in different activities during the afternoon. A physical work which doesn't require particular skills. The group will be by constituted by 10 international volunteers and 10 French teenagers from the region of Dole.
Vaunieres village is a national and international meeting centre, situated at the level of 1200m. Throughout the whole year, it hosts people from very different social and cultural backgrounds. Every year, international volunteers, families, handicapped people, youngsters coping with social issues or tourists come during their free time to take part in the restoration of the village, to take a holiday or to organize a specific project (theatre plays, seminars…).
The objective of the environmental works is to optimize the educational potential of the site and the arrangement and marking of nature paths in the surroundings of the centre. Vaunières is situated in the south Alps of France, in the heart of a beautiful range of mountains. There are many opportunities to organise walks in the mountains and cultural evenings and participate in local events taking place in the villages around.
This workcamp is organised together with a youth center called "La Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture". A group of local youngsters is going to work together with the international volunteers. Together they will renovate the façade of a chapel, which is situated outside the village. They will take off the plaster and fill in the gaps.
