Along with a technical leader, you will participate to the restoration of an authentic Roman times mine from located in Villeneuve-sur-Auvers. You will lead workshops with the locals about the memory of the place and its history. You will also take part in the valorization and maintenance of the glass-casing protecting the fossils in Auvers-Saint-Georges. Alongside this action, you will initiate an educational pathway through a part of the nature reserve, while proposing games and animations focusing on eco-friendly tips and the protection of biodiversity.
Accomodation & food:
You will be hosted in shared room 5 minutes of walk away from the first site at Villeuneuve-sur-Auvers, and 40 minutes of walk away from the second site at Auvers-Saint-Georges. Both walks follow a pleasant forest path. The group will be sharing the cleaning chores and preparing meals together. The budget will be allocated to the group leader and you will participate to the preparation of dishes with healthy produce from the market and local producers.

Alongside two camp leaders, including a technical instructor, you will participate in clearing away plants from the area and scraping the basins clean in order to discover their original appearance. You will then fortify the low walls and therefore learn traditional building techniques. You will put a new metal gate on the fountain's current door. You will also be encouraged to repair the dry stone walls which line the site's access path. At the end of the work camp you will organise a big party with the inhabitants to celebrate the rebirth of the Saint Martin fountain!

You will stay at Bromont-Lamothe's town campsite, "Le Préguda", sharing two-person tents with boys and girls separated. You will have access to toilets. The campsite is located at the edge of the town, next to a pond. The village school,100 metres away, will be reserved for group purposes. Welcome to the Combrailles! The Combrailles area is formed of granite plateaus around 500 and 900 metres above sea level. You will be staying a stone's throw away from the Chaine des Puys and close to the winding twists and turns of the Sioule Gorges, which are vast wooded and volcanic areas. The community of communes of Donjon Val Libre is undertaking a large project to enhancing and making the promotion of its touristic places. The project revolves around two main goals : the development and the animation of its territory. It is as part of this initiative that the town will host two international workcamps this year. They will look to restore the vernacular heritage of two small villages. You will also be mobilized to help with organisation and animation of the festivities of the local population. On this project, you will work with with the Culture and Heritage association of Donjon Val Libre and will get to meet many volunteers.
Work:
The workcamp consists of restoring part of the old "Jalopy Trail" or the "Miners' Path" which was created in 1835 to transport coal, before serving to transport people and livestock from 1900 until being finally closed in 1938. It was then left unattended, so the first part of the workcamps will include clearing the weeds and then sorting out and cleaning rocks and lastly rebuilding the low stonewall and stairs.

Between the cities of Sauveterre de Béarn and Navarrenx, in a 12 hectare large park, along the banks of the Oloron’s river, the castle of Laàs owns one of the most beautiful collection of decorative art in Aquitaine and a domain where you will enjoy wandering. In the summer, the castle’s big park invites you to walk among the centuries-old trees, to enjoy the view of the Pyrénées or the Oloron’s river, the Italian or exotic gardens: green theaters… Local celebrations and the discovery of the region will take place during your stay.
Work:
You will be part of the logistical organisation of the summer activities of the park three days a week (candle nights, music show, local producers’ market…). You will help taking care of the 12 hectare domain (cleaning, bush cutting) but mostly the orchard where are planted many sorts of fruit trees (apple, peach, grapes trees…)

You will participate to the rehabilitation of the path by cleaning up the vegetation that blocks its access (taking out the brambles and invasive plants, cutting up dead woods…).
