The community of St. Géniès de Malgoirès owns a park in the heart of the village. For some years now they have started to recondition this park (field clearing, ...). This year, the community wishes to restore the walls of an old channel that once led water to the mill.
This year is the second year of a partnership which has as its goal the restoration of the whole park. The duration of the project might be extended until end of June.
The group will work together with a technical animator and an employee responsible for the maintenance of the park of the community. Volunteers could also create interactive projects or evenings with an 'all-round' association of the village.

There is a small garden at Vaunières hosting centre where we grow different varieties of plants. In the autumn 2010, we built terraces in order to extend the garden and we also planted some fruit trees. During this workcamp, we are now going to build a permanent greenhouse in order to develop our farming activities over the year and grow plants which would not grow at 1200m high.
This is the first step of a long term project aiming at improving the quality of our meals and developing creative cooking activities with the groups coming on holidays at the center. This workcamp will be supervised by two permanent staff of our organization and one long term volunteer.
This workcamp offers the opportunity to meet with young people from all over the world, discover a rural way of life, make walks in the mountains, visit some popular places of the region and share many festive moments with all the young people who stay at Vaunières.

In the past, there used to be a still with lavender, a greenhouse, a vegetable garden and a hydraulic ram (mechanic system to provide the farm with potable water) at the Faï farm. These various installations allowed the farmers to diversify their agricultural activities in order to survive in this very isolated place. These tools are now out of use and we are planning to repair them in order to revive the history of the farm and to develop educative activities for our publics. The work will consist in re-building the greenhouse frame, constructing a shelter above the hydraulic ram and laying a concrete slab to put the still with lavender. It is also planned to create footpaths with wooden steps to make these installations accessible for the visitors. This workcamp also offers the opportunity to organize walks in the mountains, to discover the rural way of life and to visit the region. In July, you will be able to get involved in a cultural and musical event named “Festiv Alpages en Pleine Terre” that we are organizing at the Faï and “Café du people” in Veynes.

It is the local mission of Tarare, which is working on the social and professional integration of young people of the territory of Amplepuis-Thizy that made the first partnership with Concordia in 2008. They are in cooperation with the local actors who work on youth topics and whose goal is to enable local young people, often away from international mobility opportunities, to participate in international exchanges offered by ConcordiaU s workcamps. In 2008, 2009 and 2010, several young people were integrated successfully in the group of international volunteers. This is why we hope that this year local young people interested to open to the world will live this rewarding human experience. Many actors of the youth policy of the country are mobilized to make sure that the exchanges between young people from nearby villages and the international volunteers will be a success.
