This year, you will work on the restoration of the large west stone shooting site, which faces the Liédot Fort. The work will consist in de-vegetating the site in order to start traditional masonry work on rubble walls. You will also have to replace the stones, to jut in and join with hydraulic lime.

In collective rooms in a hosting centre near the Fort Liédot. Meals will be prepared by kitchen teams, in turns.

This project is a continuation of the work undertaken last year by the volunteers. You will work on the restoration of a new part of the main facade of the redoubt. You will help the technical leader to remove plants from the facade, and to remove and replace the chalk mortar joints between the stones. Other works of traditional masonry are also planned, such as redoing the stone coping (top layer of the wall) and stone-cutting.

Location & leisure:
Fouras-les-Bains, located 20 km away from La Rochelle.You will be able to visit some tourist areas around, enjoy nature and organize some dinners with the local inhabitants. You will also have the opportunity to visit the Île d'Aix, a small car-free island in the middle of the ocean, by boat. Since it is also a popular sea-side resort, you will be able to participate to several events in the region.
During this project, you will help the association in organising a local event open to local inhabitants and which promotes interculturality. You will take part in the organisation and communication of this event. You will also participate in workshops and discussion time about interculturality and living together.
Accomodation & food:
You will sleep in tents in the former town campsite which is now used by our association to host some volunteers. Please bring a sleeping bag with you. The campsite has bathrooms and showers, as well as a kitchen place. Food will be provided and cooked by the volunteers in turns.
Location & leisure:
La Ferté Alais is approximately 50km south of Paris, in Essonne region.
Leisure activities:
Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet the local population and other people who are present on the site. You will also get to explore the surroundings of the town. La Ferté Alais is located in a regional natural park called Gâtinais. Volunteers will be able to organize their own collective activities depending on their wishes and the available budget.

You will move around the area by bike to work on several small projects such as helping to set up an event, giving a hand to local organizations or small scale reconstruction work. In doing so you will not only make local projects happen but also show what voluntary involvement can look like and give the locals the opportunity to get involved as well. The three week's work will lead towards the "Fete de l'engagement" for which you will prepare interactive activities and show a creative report on the ways in which you got involved in the area.

You will stay in different places, therefore, the accommodation can be in tents as well as in dormitories inside buildings. Food will be provided and you will all take turns in preparing the meals.

The free time is organized collectively. You will be able to use the bikes provided to discover the area, go swimming, participate in local cultural events, it will depend on you!
Requirements:
This workcamp is a very demanding project. Given that you will move from place to place, you will need to be motivated, flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances. Be aware that you will do long trips on bikes!
With the help of a technical supervisor you will make an aromatic garden. The work involves creating wooden bins to accommodate the various aromatics plants, arranging the layout of the garden and the bins as well as planting aromatics and maintaining them. For the fresco, you will be guided by a professional graffiti artist, which will allow you to learn the techniques and uses of this art form. The work around the fresco will consist, on choosing the theme as a group, creating the décor, trying out the practice and then creating the fresco on the external wall.
Accomodation & food:
Camping in tents in the Parc de l'Institut Médico-éducatif (IME) of Tonnay-Charente, adapted to receive campers, with free access to the facilities of the boarding school of the IME. Food ingredients will be provided and meals will be prepared, in teams, taking turns, with the help of a facilitator.

Leisure activities:
The young people of the CAP and the local people will propose activities that aim to immerse you in the local lifestyle (home made meal, raft races, strolls and discovery of the territory by boat, participation in activities of CAP) During the leisure time, you can participate in local festivities such as "Tonnay fête sa Charente", the national day and the show "site en scène" You will also have the opportunity to visit major cities such as La Rochelle or Poitiers and discover the L'Île d'Aix and Fort Boyard.
The work consists of three steps: setting up, the work during the week long festival and in the end transforming the village back to its usual self. During all of the three weeks you will cooperate with the big team of local volunteers to set up stages, tend to stalls, cook and serve food, and any other task that is necessary for the festival to run smoothly.

Your dormitory will be in a building that belongs to the town hall. Food will be provided and cooked by the group in turns. Lunch will be shared with the team of local volunteers.

Leisure activities:
The activities during your free time will be organised collectively with the whole group. During the second week and the weekends you will be very occupied with your work on the festival but you will have time to discover the region together during the last week. Nevertheless, you will have the possibility to enjoy the concerts, workshops, exhibitions and other activities which take place during the festival.
Requirements:
Be aware that the work during the festival is intense and demands a lot of energy and a high level of flexibility. Some of the stalls are open until midnight!
You will work in the Pillar Room located underground. The work consists of securing and supporting the existing vaults: Construction of walls following the traditional dry stone construction technique. The materials (sand and lime) will be delivered to the site by helicopter. This workcamp involves 4 days of work per week, from 08:30 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:30. A technical supervisor will accompany you during your working day. This workcamp will be archaeologically monitored.
Accomodation & food:
You will be sharing a room with 3-4 other volunteers. Bathrooms are also shared. Meals are prepared by our kitchen staff. You will be asked to lend a hand with the preparation of some food, tidying the dining area, and washing the dishes.
Location & leisure:
Tende (06430) - 2 hours from Nice by train. The organisation "Neige et Merveilles" is located at an altitude of 1.500 metres in an isolated mountainous area, 10 km from the Closest village of Tende, and 50 km from Vintimille (Italy).
Leisure activities:
You will discover the Alpine environment, as well as the region's historical and cultural heritage. You will also be able to participate in other activities such as hiking in the "Vallée des Merveilles" in the Mercantour National Park, swimming in the Bendola river, visiting local villages (Tende, La Brigue, Saorge), tying the Via Feratta and in the evenings, enjoying dance, photo-video sessions, stargazing, board games, barbecue, international meals, etc. One day per week in addition to the weekend will be dedicated to activities outside of the workcamp.
Requirements:
You will be working underground at the entrance of the mine with some heavy material such as rocks and buckets of mortar.
