Clowns, circus, an incredible brass band, capoeira and maybe a bearded lady ! If you dream of this mix, come to join the Laskar Théâtre : a clown company between theatre and circus tradition. With a small group of international volunteer (5 persons), you will integrate into the troupe who is preparing the second edition of the Cirque Printanier (= Sping Circus Festival). Work:
You will integrate the short clowns's troupe and as such you will participate in the setting up of the second edition of the Cirque Printanier (=Spring Circus Festival) : installation of the big top and various equipment, helping to the general logistics link to the shows (signposting, ticket booth, security…).
One part of you work will be link to the public :
welcome, seating, etc. You will also help in leading workshops (circus, clown make up, …) often for children. And if you're motivated, you can learn circus and clown arts, and why not dress up (come with you costume if you have one or create one during the workcamp) to participate to one of the performance during this festival !?!
Accommodation:
You will sleep, cook and live in the communal home occupied during all the year by the Laskar Théâtre Compagny. Dormitory (for 6 persons) and bathroom shared with the circus troupe. Collective cooking: you will cook and eat with the circus troup.
Location:
You will be located in Mauzun, a small village about forty km in south western to Clermont-Ferrand. Into the art and history country of Billom Saint-Dier, you will discover the heritage of this country. Mauzun is also the permanent place of the Laskar Théâtre Compagny : you will live the everyday live of this troupe.

Festival of La Bouchure - contemporary and eclectic music in rural France ! For the 6th consecutive year, the organisation Les Bouchures is happy to host international volunteers to help in the implementation of a amplified music festival. The “bouchure” designated locally the field hedge because one of the characteristic of this music festival is to be located in rural area and to be touring (moving from a village to another). On the program: 4 days of music festival in 4 villages & 70 local volunteers hosting around 10 music groups and 8000 spectators! Work:
You will participate in the implementation of the festival (29/06- 02/07/2011) - installation and dismantling of the sites of concerts (fences, stalls, etc.), create and install arrow for itinerary, reception of the public, management of the refreshment and food stall… Because the festival is touring, this job again repeat each day : caution, the work’s rhythm is heavy during the 4 festival days !
Free hand will be let to the group for the creation of signages inside the concert sites :

You will live in the small town of Commentry in the heart of the Bourbonnais region in the Allier department. Former mining city, today it is a pleasant place for its 7,000 inhabitants and its tourists. You will find shops, parks and would go around its rich heritage linked to its industrial past... you will have walks in the surrounding area (lakes, typical villages...)

The life in this festival is often hectic and days could be long. This workcamp is different from the others! You have to be available and to know how to react facing emergency and unexpected situations. The festival is dealing with “contempory music” (or music of our times). Bring current music that you like and/or you want share with others.
For the second year, the town of Blois will welcome a group of international volunteers. Blois is a well-known cultural city thanks to its history. Indeed, there are about ten castles in the surroundings, of which the most famous are the Chacirc;teaux de Chambord, Cheverny and Blois. Many festivities take place in July: festivals (U(Deacute;lires d et eacute;teacute;U , U(GuinguettesU , U(Tremplin RockU ), open-air film screenings, fireworks display with concert. Nature also takes an important part in the local life, with the Loire Valley, that has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage since 2000. This year, the subject of the workcamp will be the realisation of an artistic fresco to emphasize the entrance to the youth house, one of the different phases of the renovation of the building. This house, called U(Arc-en-cielU , accommodates musical groups, companies, graphic artistsU The workcamp will be a way for joining different people around a common project. Beyond this action, the municipality wants to stress on the youngstersU commitments at local and international levels, to create links and organize meetings between the different cultures, the local players and the inhabitants. WORK: This project is a partnership between the town Blois and Concordia. You will work on the realisation of an artistic fresco and internal arrangement.

Blois is the 50,000-inhabitant town district of the department of Loir et Cher in the Reacute;gion Centre. It is situated halfway between Tours and Orleacute;ans, on the edge of the Loire River, which is the last wild European river, near la Petite Beauce and la Sologne. It has a lively town centre and a castle.
The castle of Faucompierre, or Saint Jean du March, has been ruined by the franco-swedish troupes in the mid 17th century. It has great and majestic ruins that show a keep, towers, fortifications and a chapel.
Work:
You will secure the site of these vestiges, in relation with archaeological teams.
Nanteuil-lès-Meaux is a small town of 5000 inhabitants, located between the city of Meaux and the countryside of the Briard Land. For this first workcamp, the volunteers are going to create two frescoes on the hall of the community center and the wall of the football stadium stands. The topic of the frescoes is solidarity and peace between people. They will get help from the local youth, with whom they will also discover local heritage and visit Paris.
ACCOMMODATION:
The volunteers will be accommodated in a room, situated about five minutes from the workcamp.
After two workcamps on the Children Rights Park´s surrounding wall, this year, volunteers will work on the renovation of the Hector Peterson´s community centre. This house, which hosts young people between 12 and 25 years old, needs a complete renovation.
Plastering and painting the façade of the building and painting inside walls. The work will be shared with the local youth, who are involved in the citizen workcamp of the town. The volunteers can participate in various activities with the local youth of the town (visiting Provins, Paris, meeting other workcamp participants, sportive activities...).

For 18 years now, the association Souvigny Grand Site invites volunteers to participate in the preparation and the management of a big medieval festival. During this one week the festival attracts about 30000 visitors.
The volunteers will help with the installation, taking care of stands, organizing festive moments and taking down at the end of the festival. This workcamp is challenging and demands a high involvement of volunteers.
