The camp will do various maintenance and repair work in a summer house for youth. The volunteers will do painting work in the main building and tidying up the surrounding areas (beach, forest, yard) and some other work.The camp host is the youth office of city of Espoo and there will also be some local young people joining the camp.
Accomodation & food:
Volunteers will sleep in the main building (an old wooden school) in bunk beds. There is a well equipped kitchen where volunteers will cook their meals in turns. There are no showers but instead there is a sauna and the lake. Toilets are outdoor. Volunteers can do fishing, rowing, canoeing, swimming and other outdoor activities.

Sierla camp center is located by a lake Pitkajarvi, surrounded by fields and forests, in the municipal of Nummi-Pusula. There is a farm close by but the other neighbours are mainly summer inhabitants. Nearest towns are Karkkila, Lohja and Salo (30km) and the closest bigger city is Espoo (60km).
Volunteers help to renovate the old railway station in Hyrynsalmi. Historical exhibitions and happenings will be organized in the building when it is ready. Also art exhibitions. The camp host is a small local organisation which wants to maintain this piece of local heritage having an important meaning in the Finnish history. Most of the other buildings in the area were burnt down during the second world war.

The volunteers are expected to cook in turns and be prepared to cook some typical dish from their own country. The volunteers will stay in a house with all facilities.

The volunteers will have a chance to participate in a interesting event called swamp soccer because the world championship games will be held in the are in the end of the camp. Jokioinen Museum Railway is a narrow gauge museum railway in southern Finland entirely operated by volunteer railway enthusiasts of Museum Railway Association. The main station called Minkio is located in the countryside in municipality of Jokioinen. The camp will maintain and restore the historic railway environment. The work consists of several tasks including track repair, outside area fixing and general railway maintenance.

The accommodation is arranged by the Museum Railway Association. It will be arranged in old sleeping car cabins (2-3 people in each). Breakfast equipment will be served and most of the meals are made ready for the participants.

Minkio is small village in the municipality of Jokioinen in southern Finland. The area is mostly countryside, among a few villages and the centre of Jokioinen. The nearest town is Forssa, about 100 km from Helsinki. See www.jokioinen.fi
The municipality of Vaala would like to renovate some local cultural heritage. The volunteers will participate in renovating local museum area in traditional methods. The work will include renovating a wooden roof and also doing some tidying of the surroundings. The volunteers will also have a chance learn the basics of lake-paddling.

The accommodation is in a local old log cottage which is by a large lake. The volunteers will prepare their own food by cooking in turns. For free time, there is possible to go swimming and have sauna, paddling, fishing and play beachvolley etc. The place is great for nature lovers.
