The cultural youth centre of Rauma works actively with cultural and intercultural issues organising events, campaigns and workshops. The themes of the work camp are short film producing and culture producing issues. Volunteers will also become acquainted with ancient technology and eco art as well as have a work shop on photography. The camps will also assist in producing a small Finnish rock festival by doing some practical work and documentary. Issues like human rights and racism and tackled by the means of media education.
Accommodation:
During the camp our headquarters will be in Rauma but we will stay overnight in other places as well so the volunteers will need a sleeping bag. There will be also visits to local sights, meetings with locals and all the volunteers are expected to cook their national food one evening !!
Location:
In Rauma we have about 40 000 inhabaitants, www.oldrauma.fi. Rauma is located in western Finland between Turku (100km) and Pori (50km).
Terminal:
Rauma bus station. The best way to come here is by bus. It is about 300km from Helsinki to Rauma and there are direct buses. The nearest airport and train station is in Pori, 50km from Rauma.
