Alliksaare Farm main direction is cattle and milk farming. The main work for volonteers will be to take care and maintain the pastures located at the sea coast. Another work is cleaning the coast nereby the farm from rubbish brought by storms. Occasionally there can be some works to prepare food for cows for winter period. Obviosuly the work will be mainly outdoors. The working day will be 6-8 hours. Work will be done under supervision of local hosts and group leader.

Most of the work will be outdoors. In case of rainy weather alternative work indoors will be found. The work is planned for 5-6 hours a day. Please note that the work does not include direct contact with the animals.In addition to this there may be some light renovation and cleaning jobs in the youth centre house, where volunteers are going to stay.

You will stay in the Mustamae Open Youth Centre in the residential area of Tallinn. It takes about 20 min by bus or trolleybus to get from there to the city centre and around 10 min walking to get to the Zoo. Volunteers will have one big sleeping room, common room, equipped kitchen, shower and toilet. There is also shower in the Zoo which can be used after the work. You will sleep on mattresses on the floor. Please bring your sleeping bags Volunteers have to prepare their own meals for breakfasts and dinners. Lunches will be taken together with the Zoo gardening staff at the working place.

This means pretty hard physical work like removing mud, stones, branches of trees, etc. Also there may be clearing up of the green areas around the mill and occasionally simple conservation jobs in the building (e.g. cleaning the walls before painting). Volunteers will be working 7-8 hours per day 5 days a week under the supervision of local technical leader.

The accommodation facilities will be quite simple: you will stay in the mill house in camp beds. Please bring your own sleeping bag. Please note that the shower is a primitive outdoors solar shower, and there is dry toilet only. But you will have a good chance to try Estonian sauna on weekend. Under supervision of local experts local and international volunteers will be mowing the wooded meadows. The work will mainly consist of raking and taking hay off the meadow. Besides the international and local volunteers under the supervision of local experts from Estonian Nature Fund will be running awareness workshops on wooded meadows and their protection and management techniques among volunteers and UNESCO work for heritage protection and, in particular, about 2014 WHV campaign focused on sustainable development. As the result at the end of the 2 week project, around ten hectares of wooded meadows will be maintained. Typical working day is 6 hours: 9 -12 and 13-16. A large group of Estonian volunteers will join the camp in Nedrema.
Accomodation & food:
On both sites volunteers will stay in tents, but there is sauna for washing and a dry compost toilet. Tents are provided, just please bring your sleeping bag. Volunteers will cook themselves in a cooker and camp fire.

The project will take place on the coastal part of Laane County in Puhtu-Laelatu-Virtsu Nature Reserve, about 80 km north-west of Parnu. LEISURERegular activities in the evenings: sauna, sea, camp fires, swimming, hiking etc. There is one day off which will be used for excursion to Parnu, lively spa town at the sea side.
Requirements:
Volunteers have to bring working clothes: closed hiking shoes or boots, wet weather clothing, scarf or hat (to protect from the sun), sleeping bag and camping mattress, swimwear, towel, insect spray and sun cream. Working tools and gloves will be provided.PARTICIPATON FEEYou are kindly asked to contribute 100 Euro towards cost of board, lodging and the whole program.
