An important task is to protect and safeguard The World Heritage against overgrowing, and make sure the public will have access along the cliff and to the spectacular view. The work consists of cutting the shrubs and keeping the tree growth down, collect garbage and clean up the coastline on a selected stretch - all work in the fresh air and with a stunning view.Different activities will be arranged during the weekends. You will among other get a free tour in the area and visit the `Stevns Fortress from the Cold War. The Work Camp will give you a unique insight to one of the World Heritages and a fantastic experience together with other young people from around the world.

Sleeping facilities: Bunker beds in dormitories. Volunteers needs to bring their on sleeping bags.
Kitchen facilities:
Volunteers will cook in teams. There is both an indoor kitchen and an outdoor fireplace.
Location & leisure:
It is possible to walk along the path to explore 'Holtug Kridtbrud', do bird watching and see rare plants. In the weekend there will be organized various activities.

You will be part of the daily work in our 6 hectare big organic outdoor gardening. In July, the primary work tasks are to exterminate weeds, harvest and sell vegetables. We also have some goats and hens that needs to be fed, and if you have building skills we can also find some construction projects. Besides the work, we will of course have time to participate in cultural events in the local area and do smaller trips to the sea and the fiord.

Sleeping facilities:All participants will sleep together in a big living room on mattresses. There will also be tents, if anybody prefer that option. We have mattresses for everybody, but you need to bring a sleeping bag yourself.Kitchen + bathroom facilities: There is a kitchen with all kitchen equipment, and a fireplace available for cooking. The Work Camp group will cook for each other and make breakfast, lunch and dinner together with the two camp leaders.There are bathrooms including a washing machine for free use.
Location & leisure:
The socioeconomic market gardening Raad & Daad is located in the Northern Denmark. In the spare time and weekends there will be plenty of time to explore the area and participate in local events. Social activities will be arranged by the two Work Camp Leaders from Denmark. It will be possible to do smaller trips to the sea, the fiord, etc. Raad & Daad has bicycles available you can borrow.On you off days, it is possible to arrange daytrips e.g. to Skagen (the most Northern point of Denmark), Aalborg (the nearest city) or what you find interesting. But you will need to pay for public transport.If you wish to stay some days after the Work Camp has finished it is possible to camp or use the shelter at Raad & Daad. Just coordinate it with the host beforehand.
Requirements:
All work will outdoor, so you have to like to be outdoor in all kinds of weather. It is preferable if you have some kind of practical skills, since you are to build, paint, etc. A motivational letter is required. Please write ½ page about yourself, explaining why you are motivated for this camp.

Sleeping facilities: Boys and girls wil be seperated into two houses. There will be beds for everyone in the houses. Please bring a sleeping bag, a pillow and bed sheet. Please also bring your own towels. There is a washing machine, that can be used free of charge.We expect that the work camp volunteers leave the accommodation in the same condition they found it. Cleaning up after themselves.AIH will provide all the food needed, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea/cake and dinner. Two to three persons from the work camp will help prepare the meals with AIH residents.Please tell us if you have food allergies or preferences like vegetarian diet or no pork.

The job is to collect garbage on the beach and beach meadows. The waste must then be sorted and brought to recycling. Every year a lot of of garbage, including a lot of plastic, comes with the waves and ends up on the beautiful beaches at Romoe. The locals and professional organisations already clean the beach, and you will help them, so that the beach can stay beautiful and can be used for all the beach activities. The work will be 4-5 hours a day, all weekdays. You will get the weekend off.

Sleeping facilities:The Work Camp will live in a scout cabin a little bit outside the town. There are two large bedrooms with mattresses on the floor - bring your own sleeping bag, pillow etc. Kitchen + bathroom facilities: Kitchen, bathroom and washing machine facilities are in the scout cabin.You will need to do the cooking yourself. You will do groceries together with the other work camp participants in the local grocery store. The house you will be staying in is located in the town of Kongsmark, where there are shopping opportunities.

There will be guided tours to the Wadden Sea. In your free time you can spend time at the beach. The island is small and has some beautiful, unique nature. The Wadden sea, the area in which the island is, is on the UNESCO world heritage list. The tidal water, the wind a the waves create a quniqe landsacpe, like no other place. During the summer time a lot of turist visit the island. Rømø has a lot to offer turist including activities such as kayaking, windsurfing, kitesurfing, hiking, bird watching.
Please prepare for practical work.1. In the middle of our ‘'park garden'' we have allocated an area for organic gardening/perma culture. You should expect to be outside every day and work with garden tools building up parts of the area. It could be by making raised beds for herbs and flowers. Water channels for watering, digging a chamber in the ground for keeping vegetables during winter. Natural shade for plants and people. Etc. THEREFORE, it is garden work - all done by an environmental way, using nature, for the nature! The area of the new ‘organic herb world' is approximately 1000 square meters.2. Being very aware, green and organic in our thoughts and talks. We will also like upgrade our way of living at the school. There will be a lot of different jobs to do with this focus. It could be heating up outside showers with energy from the sun, or finishing a steam bath etc. 3. There is always maintenance to do on former workcamp projects4. Our straw bale house which were built 10 years ago needs a major maintenance in its earth roof. 5. You should be prepared that all project we do will be focusing on an environmental and green solutions.During camp, we will take time to debate sustainability - not only as an environmental issue but also on all levels - including sustainability among people and cultures.

Sleeping:You should expect to stay in a tented camp in the middle of our garden. There is also a chance of sleeping in dorms or rooms when available.
Toilet and showers:
In all three weeks access to showers and toilets in the school building are available.
Food:
Food is mainly organic, green made by our kitchen staff, and served three times a day. However, you should expect to assist after all meals doing dishes. In the weekend, you will assist in the making of the meals. Let us know if you are vegetarian.

Brenderup is located on the island Funen (Fyn) in Denmark. The village Brenderup (2000 inhabitants) is close to the beach, forests and idyllic countryside.You will have free access to our different workshops during the camp, including recycling design, music, art and gym workshops. There is wireless internet at the school. Bicycles can be rented for the whole stay.
Requirements:
A motivational letter is required. People, who are used to work with their hands in combination with artistic skills, will be preferred to the work camp and volunteers are expected to be ready to share their culture with the other participants and students at the school. Special motivation letters and other requirements may be attached to the info-sheet.It will be easier for you, if you are a green thinker! English at a conversational level is required.
