In the middle of our ‘'Park Garden'' we have allocated an area for organic gardening. Therefore, you should expect to work with garden tools building up parts of the area. It could be by making raised beds for vegetables and flowers. Water channels for watering, digging a chamber in the ground for keeping vegetables during winter. Natural shade for plants and people. Etc. THEREFORE, it is garden work - all done by an environmental way, using nature, for the nature! However, the main work will be to assist in building an organic greenhouse. Later the greenhouse will be used as a classroom and for yoga and meditation, - and of course for flowers and plants. We will be using the shape of a dome, or making another straw bale house – we are still to decide. The area of the new ‘'organic world is approximately 1000 square meters. Our garden is consisting of some very spectacular old trees, and together with the imposing structure of the straw bale house and the music house, the Lotus House and the Tree Top House, we have a wonderful world. We would like to link the buildings together with our new organic garden and build pass ways between them. During camp, we will take time to debate sustainability - not only as an environmental issue but also on all levels - including sustainability among people and cultures.
Accomodation & food:
You should expect to stay in a tented camp in the middle of our garden. There is also a chance of sleeping in dorms or rooms when available. In all three weeks access to showers and toilets in the school building are available. Food is made by our kitchen staff and served three times a day. However, you should expect to assist after all meals doing dishes. In the weekend, you will assist in the making of the meals. Let us know if you are vegetarian. You will have free access to our different workshops during the camp, including recycling design, music, art and gym workshops. There is free wi-fi at the school.

IPC has a large outdoor area and wild growing garden. Therefore, a large part of the garden is not used as much as it could be. Furthermore, the students at IPC used to get lost in the forest and were not able to move around and enjoy the nature. Last year the Work Camp built a path through the west part of the garden around the lake and through the forest. This year we will improve the existing path and establish more recreational areas in the garden, e.g. steps, rails and obstacle course. The trail will be built with respect for biodiversity and only from natural materials. The objective is to make more students use the nature and be more active outdoor.
Accomodation & food:
Single rooms and 2-person-rooms in the buildings the IPC where the students normally live in when they are studying at IPC. You will eat at the school's kitchen, which normally cooks for the entire school and its students. The kitchen is international like the school, so you will receive food and dishes from all over the world.
Location & leisure:
The International People's College is located on Montebello Allé 1-9, in the town of Helsingør (also known in English as Elsinore), not far from the Danish capital Copenhagen. IPC is a miniature world and you will undoubtly feel at home given the diversity of people who gather at IPC. However, it would be a shame not to explore a bit beyond this "global village" in the middle of the Danish region Nordsjælland (North Zealand). In North Zealand you will find beautiful nature, close by beaches, and forest. North Zealand is also known for its many Castles and interesting museums. You can also visit the nearby Sweden.

At Sagnlandet 10.000 years of Danish history is brought to life. We will be working in a beautiful historic landscape in an environment of houses and settings from the Iron Age, Stone Age, Viking Age and 1800th century, where historic workshops, domestic animals, and even volunteer-families are living as they did time back. We will help out with different practical tasks such as weeding, whitewash or paint walls, repair fences and the like. We expect the whole team to work with the mentioned tasks every day from 9 am -3 pm.
Accomodation & food:
You will live in historic houses. Everybody have to sleep together in a big room. This means no gender separation and no private life at night, unless you bring a tent. There will be modern toilets and bathroom, and we will prepare meals together in teams, in an ordinary kitchen, and perhaps a roast over open fire. The food we eat, are donated by local supermarkets and organic farms. Every day, we will go and get what is needed.
Location & leisure:
We will live and work together at Sagnlandet Lejre, to get to know each other, experience each other's cultures and generally have fun together. Some days the activities will be mandatory while others are voluntary. Apart from activities in Sagnlandet Lejre we will be able to visit one of the local organic farms and if possible, do a little cruise with our local viking ship "Aslak" at Roskilde Fjord. On the evening of 30 June, we will visit Lejre Town hall, to hear the Mayor tell us about how Lejre is the first Danish municipality to implement a comprehensive effort to introduce ecology into all relevant activities. The goal is to make Lejre an attractive municipality to live in, to produce healthy food and to protect nature, climate and water. Moreover, the goal is to inspire other municipalities to follow the same path.

There will be a lot of different jobs to do, but the main focus of the Work Camp is to create a trail around our nice small lake, so our students and guests can make "walk and talk" in the breaks during the day. The students at Jaruplund enjoy being outside and to take a swim in the lake, but when it has rained it is difficult to walk around the lake and enjoy the nature. The trail will fix this issue, and be a part of an effort to build an environmentally sustainable environment around our lake. The trail will be built with respect for biodiversity and only from natural materials. We have planned to combine the work with trips in the surrounding area and some evenings with songs and other social activities to make sure that you and the other participants get a great time at this working camp. « The outside world did not interfere, because it seemed so distant, and so we spent our spare time getting to know each other and learning about each other countries', languages and cultures. Everyone was completely relaxed. This simply would not have been possible on any other type of holiday. VAP enabled me to have a truly memorable experience. »
