This is a charity school managed by volunteers for poor street children who have no access to formal education system. The children come from one of the poorest fishing communities, who live under Long Bien Bridge, Red River, Ha Noi. Some of the children are forced to work and earn money by their parents from as young as 4-5 years old. The tasks of the volunteers will range from keeping the school clean, to teaching and cooking a free lunch for the children.
Accommodation and Food:
Volunteers will live in Youth House 1 which has dormitory beds. Water and light is provided. Lunch will be at the work place and dinner at the Youth House 1 after work.

Work starts at 9 am and rotates in duty. A group (Team 1) will go to the market to buy food for lunch with local volunteers. Team 2: will teach children and Team 3 will clean the house. You will have lunch with children and in the evening you can go out or cook by yourself.

Our house is close to the city center. Volunteers will have the chance to visit and explore many historical places as well as the local Vietnamese shops.

The center is an orphanage and vocational school for 1000 orphans and disabled children/ teenagers in Hai Duong province. The work will be flexible and will be confirmed during the orientation of the camp. It can be: preparing food for the children and taking care of orphan babies, renovate the bedrooms of the children, paint the walls, cleaning the center or dormitories.
Accommodation and Food:
Volunteers will stay in the center. Beds are available. The group will have meals with the children at the canteen of the center.
Program:
Your work starts at 9 am to 11:00 am and in the afternoon you work from 2 to 4:30pm. There are different tasks to be done such as preparing food for the children, taking care of orphan babies and painting children’s rooms or beds. In the evening you have free time where you can have leisure activities with kids or exchange culture with local volunteers.
Location:
Hai Duong is about 50km away from Ha Noi city. It is quite calm in the city but there is some “town and club” life around. However, you have to come back the center before 10pm.

Phu Tho SOS Children's Village was built in Viet Tri City in 1999, following the model of the famous SOS International. There are now about 168 orphans living in 15 families, with the care from the village mothers and staff. The orphans come from 5 different provinces in the north of Vietnam, and age between 1-18 years old. They are provided with housing, full care and education. Being orphan or abandoned, children are quite shy, and they need more confidence, to become involved with regular life in the community, as normal children.
Work:
Volunteers will spend time with the children and help improve their English, organizing games and other activities for them. Volunteers will also help redecorating the houses and classrooms, planting vegetables, and cleaning the area. Volunteers will also join the families to get closer to the children’s lifes and try to build up a broader horizon for the children, and encourage them to educate themselves for a brighter future.

Children’s day is the most important occasion when all normal kids are beloved and given gifts by parents, relatives and friends in Vietnam. However, our disadvantaged kids are not so lucky to enjoy this day. They are orphans, poor patients in pediatric hospital or street children at Youth House School, etc. The work of volunteers is making presents, organizing a meaningful festival for the less fortunate kids in and around Ha Noi.

Volunteer will live in Youth House 1 Center. Dormitory beds, water, light is provided. We have a house with bathroom, toilet, and water. Volunteers can cook their meal every day or go out. There are many local restaurants or restaurants from different countries.
Program:
International and local volunteers will get together and discuss how to arrange a good festival for kids. Then volunteers go to the market and buy materials to make presents (candy, gloves, scarf, etc). There is free time in the evening.
