This is a special workcamp, offered only once a year, intended to prepare the International Volunteer Day (IVD), taking place on the 5th December this year. Saigon (also called Ho Chi Minh) is one of the most dynamic cities in Vietnam. It is an ideal destination for employment opportunities, for improved living conditions or for receiving better healthy care services. At the same time it is also a city where a lot of difficult situations can happen, such as homeless elderly people, lack of education for children, or orphanages that do not have enough staff to properly take care of the children. Besides the efforts of the government to rectify these issues , volunteering is another way to help these issues mentioned above. Therefore, on the day of IVD, we organise a festival workcamp with the aim to promote volunteerism, raise awareness of the local people about it, help international volunteers understand more about voluntary movement in Vietnam and to join social activities with local people.
