VietHealth has been running for just over 1 year and it only has a small team of staff. Its mission is to improve the health of people around Vietnam, especially in economically disadvantaged and ethnic minority communities and amongst vulnerable and high-risk populations, through capacity building, awareness raising, and improved access to basic healthcare services.
Project activities:
VietHealth is working in the field of healthcare and public health with a particular focus on sexual and reproductive health, mother-and-child healthcare, HIV/AIDs awareness and prevention, disability awareness, prevention and rehabilitation, and primary and preventive healthcare.
Community context:
Nowadays in Vietnam, around half the population are under 30, so there is a need of providing information about HIV prevention, and reproductive health in general. So raising the awareness of the local community about healthcare is important.
Volunteer requirements:
Flexibility / adaptability, good in team work. Computer skills. Native English speakers preferred. Educational degree or practical experience required. Please bring a laptop for your work.

VOLUNTEERING PERIOD:
Minimum period of stay - 1 month.
Volunteer tasks:
- Participate in developing program and project proposals, including brainstorming, discussion, research, writing and editing. - Assist in preparation of and editing project reports, communication materials and training documents, including summary the researching reports and editing. - Assist in promoting and build a linkage between VietHealth to international organizations. - Provide/share support to local staff for improving English and build effective English speaking environment, including English spoken in VietHealth's office, and technical English for VietHealth's staff and partners 4 hours very week.
Hosting situation:
Volunteers will stay in a dormitory with rooms shared with other volunteers. Sometimes homestay may be arranged. Living conditions will be Vietnamese standard with shared bathroom, single bed with mattress. Food will be provided at the accommodation. Meals will be mostly local food, which vary from the daily cooking schedule. At lunch, most of the time food is provided by the local staff of the NGO.
The Vietnam Sustainable Development center is a NGO that is currently focused on providing resources through their two web portals to farmers in rural communities and people with disabilities.
Project activities:
Fundraising, find and bring support to locals.
Community context:
Actually, in the countryside specific population need support such as farmers, who need support to develop their activities, or disabled persons who need daily support. Thus, the project is based in Hanoi, but it focuses on the poorest part of the rural local community.

- Writing and editing documents. - Fundraising. - Promotion of the project (Presentation of the project in front of donors). - Teaching English to the local staff. - Editing budgets. - Organizing daily tasks. - Networking.
