Vinh Son institution was built on March 3rd ,1991 from a “piggery” in Binh Thanh district. This project is a free primary school for children that their families have no condition to send them to public schools. At the moment, there are about 120 children aged 6 to 16 joining 6 classes. These children from many districts in Ho Chi Minh City, even some of them take almost 2 hours to get to this school. After class, many children have to help their parents earn money by selling lottery tickets, collecting scrap (nilon bag, plastic, glass,…) or looking after baby of neighbours.
Work:
Volunteers will help to teach English and organize educational activities for children in the school. The volunteers also do some renovation work for the school.

Phu Ninh Community is located in the rural area which is 100kms far from Hanoi Capital in the middle of the rice paddies. The project aims to renovate water and sanitation facilities in all primary schools in this rural area. There is great need of manual labour and resources improve life of local children.
Children in these schools are from 6-11 years of age. In each school there are about 300 children. This school is in the mountainous area which means that the children usually come from poor agricultural family’s that cannot afford a lot for the school.
1.Construction: there are many things that still need to be built, doors and toilets need to be installed , behind the building there is a fence that needs to be built.
2.Decorating: the rooms will need painting, and decorating to make it the most pleasant possible for the children which are going to stay in these rooms.
3.Gardening: the school needs an organic garden to supply it's self in fruit and vegetables, and teach the children how to do sustainable agriculture.
Work:
Volunteers help to build walls around the schools, renovating water and sanitation facilities and decorate children’s classroom to make them more vivid and fun. The space next to the building will need clearing, then be converted to an organic garden.

Ky Quang Orphanage is run by Ky Quang Pagoda, which was built in the early part of the 20th Century in 1924 and is quite famous in Ho Chi Minh City. The pagoda is now a place of charity for unlucky children and also helps treat diseases. Now, the pagoda is taking care and bringing up more than 200 children in the South of Vietnam. The children here have unfortunate backgrounds as many have been abandoned by their parents and relatives. Every few months, the monks find a new baby left in front of the pagoda gate. The head monk sometimes receives phone calls from hospitals requesting him to take in abandoned babies. At the moment, about 200 children are living in the Pagoda, their ages ranging from 5 days old to 40 years old. 90 of these are orphans that are suffering from cerebral-palsy, blindness or Down's syndrome. At present, about 30-40 local children have a chance to study at Ky Quang as some local teachers teach Vietnamese for them in the morning.
Work:
Volunteers will spend time with the children and help to improve their English, organize games and other activities for them. Volunteers will also do some manual work which benefits the project where the children staying, studying, such as help painting, classrooms, cleaning the area. Volunteers will get closer to the children’s life and try to build up wider horizon for the children and encourage them to learn better for brighter future.

This is a CCIVS/UNESCO World Heritage Volunteers Project which aims to promote volunteering on the promotion the value of the central sector of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long – Hanoi and the importance of preservation activities through voluntary action and non-formal education. To achieve the project’s objectives, a group of international volunteers will work together for at least two weeks.
Volunteers will be expected to participate in some learning activities during the first week. Those activities include an orientation meeting, a tour around the site, and a seminar to exchange their knowledge about the site. After that, volunteers will come to local schools and talk with the students there about what they have learnt.
Work:
Participating in an orientation meeting with an expert and a tour around the site; presenting about what volunteers have learnt about the site after the visit; discussing the ways to promote, protect and conserve this World Heritage site; Preparing and organizing workshops at local schools/colleges.

Phu Yen is one of the CEC is an environment for children aged from 6-15 years old and an English supportive center for adults who take part in in-service training and associate training courses with universities and colleges throughout the country. In Phu Yen, volunteers will teach English to children and support the teachers to improve the english teaching methods.
Work:
Organize a play scheme for the children during summer. Different workshops such as painting, sport, art, dancing will be held by volunteers. Teaching some basic English to the children through games, songs, activities. Small renovation for classroom at the kindergarten.
