The E&C NGO is a Vietnamese non-government organization, and partner of The Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Association (VUSTA). It has developed projects offering improved education for poor children in the Highlands, and vocational education for the disabled. It has also built traditional playgrounds for poor children, supported an educational program for disadvantaged youth, and helps to teach english to children through active learning. It has also managed to establish many professional partnerships, that support and promote its program activities. E & C NGO focuses on the following areas: education and culture, community projects and disadvantaged communities. There are several main tasks for volunteers to support work at E & C NGO.
Develop, facilitate and evaluate specific projects to meet the needs of disadvantaged communities.
Provide educational opportunities to children, disadvantaged youth, university students, and people with a disability, parents and/or other groups.
Develop projects that introduce the best, modern approaches in teaching and educational methods to Vietnamese audiences and professionals.
Liaise and establish partnerships with professionals, government staff, other NGOs and international organizations for the benefit of disadvantaged communities in Vietnam.
Objectives:
SJ Vietnam hopes to have good volunteers to support developmental programs, which are aiming to bring more benefits to local society, as well as to the development of disadvantaged communities.
Accommodation & Food:
Simple accommodation in SJ Vietnam’s LTV House. Volunteers will stay in dormitory beds with up to 5-6 volunteers sharing a bedroom and 18 volunteers sharing 2 bathrooms/showers. Volunteers will prepare meals in the kitchen of LTV House. Vegetarian catering is possible.
Leisure Activities:
Ha Noi has many historical and cultural places and it is also a famous destination for tourists. Visiting the old quarters or traditional trade villages are good travelling experiences for volunteers at weekends or in free time. Many cultural festivals are also held in Ha Noi annually so this is a great chance for volunteers to explore the Capital which is 1000 years old.
