The workcamp is newly organized together with Hondao Senior Citizen’s Welfare Foundation since 2009. Hondao Senior Citizen Welfare Foundation was founded in 1995 and is dedicated to promote senior citizen’s welfare in Taiwan. The World Health Organisation established the concept of active ageing in 2002. Active ageing is the process of optimizing opportunities for health, participation and security in order to enhance quality of life as people age. Echo to this concept, Hondao has organized Grandpa and Grandma’s Vigor Show for two consecutive years. Up-to-now, 7,306 senior citizens and 276 communities have participated in this campaign.
