The Childcare Centre of Mongolia (CCM) is the only fully government-funded orphanage in Mongolia. There are currently 300 children, 35 teachers and 50 staff running the Centre. The children live in a very deprived environment. Facilities and living space is limited. The main concern is food and education. Some small plots of land are available for the Centre to cultivate vegetables to feed the kids in the place which is called Buhug river. Since 2000, volunteers from all over the world have been participating in summer programs designed to improve the kids vegetable farm.
Work:
We will work together with the orphans aged 12-15 to remove the weeds in the field. Around 30 kids come here during the summer holiday of them which is between June to August. Main work of volunteers are to help Orphanage’s vegetable farm. Weeding wild plants, watering the farm and trees etc. Also someday volunteers will organize sports and cultural activity with children. Such as play games, party etc.
